Mr. Rieke said there is someone from Arthur who is interested.
Mr. Meyer said camp hosts may help reduce vandalism at the park, and he asked about
the Sheriffs Department patrol officers being more visible around Brewer Lake. Patrol
officers have been visible in the park on weekends.

A recommendation to improve access for ice fishing was discussed. Mr. Rieke suggested
that the County Highway Department maintain the road through the park in the summer
and plow snow in the winter for access to the lake for ice fishing. He talked to the
county's equipment operator assigned to that area and was told the board would need
to authorize the work to be done, and it will be billed to the Park Board.
MOT/ON, passed
Mr. Meyer moved and Mr. Peterson seconded to hire the County
Highway Department to maintain the road in the county park
and snowplow it on a two-year trial basis. Discussion: A 2%
mile stretch of township road would have to be traveled on to
get to the county park, according to Mr. Burley. Mr. Wieland
said the equipment operator should lift the blade until he gets
to the county park so the county is not setting a precedent of
maintaining a township road, unless the township hires him to
maintain their road. On roll call vote, the motion carried
unanimously.

The subcommittee also recommended a long-term plan, and applying for a grant prior to
next May, for new restroom facilities and additional camp sites at Brewer Lake. Mr.
Burley said the Park Board needs to decide on the type of facility and the type of sewer
system to be used. Mr. Montplaisir had an estimate last year from the Fargo Park District
of $75,000, which included hooking up to a central sewer system.

Mr. Peterson said he will prepare preliminary building plans and said the project could
possibly be done using local labor at a cost of approximately $25,000, excluding lavatory
fixtures. The total cost would be $30,000-40,000, and he said the largest expense will
be the septic system or drain field. Concerning grant possibilities, Mr. Wieland said the
Garrison Diversion Conservancy District may have some recreation funds available.

Mr. Wieland said a special meeting could be called on short notice concerning the
restroom facility, and he asked Mr. Peterson to call him when he has completed building
plans and cost estimates. Mr. Meyer asked that Mr. Rieke obtain cost estimates for a
drain field prior to the next meeting also.

4.

BREWER LAKE EMPLOYEES, Cost of Iivina adiustment
The group discussed cost of living adjustments (COLA) for the caretaker and assistant.
MOT/ON, passed
Mr. Meyer moved and Mrs. Sorum seconded to approve a 3%
cost of living adjustment for 2001, effective August 1st, and a
4% cost of living adjustment in the 2002 preliminary budget, to
