<br />,.-.. <br /> <br />,.-.. <br /> <br />,- <br /> <br />Park Board Minutes--July 23, 2001 1 <br /> <br />CASS COUNTY PARK BOARD MEETING <br />COMMISSION ROOM, CASS COUNTY COURTHOUSE <br />JULY 23,2001--2:00 PM <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />MEETING TO ORDER <br />A meeting of the Cass County Park Board was called to order by the Chairman, Alon <br />Wieland, at 2:00 PM in the Commission Room, Cass County Courthouse. All members <br />were present as follows: John Meyer, Robyn Sorum, Donna Schneider, Scott Wagner, <br />Alon Wieland, Keith Burley and Chad Peterson. Others present were Michael <br />Montplaisir, County Auditor; Louis Rieke, Brewer Lake caretaker; and Erin Hemme- <br />Froslie from The Forum. <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />MINUTES APPROVED <br />MOT/ON, passed <br />Mr. Meyer moved and Mrs. Sorum seconded thatthe minutes of <br />the previous meeting of April 16, 2001, be approved as written. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />3. <br /> <br />BREWER LAKE, Subcommittee recommendations <br />A county park subcommittee, consisting of park board members Keith Burley and Robyn <br />Sorum, along with County Engineer Keith Berndt, County Auditor Michael Montplaisir, <br />and Louis Rieke, park maintenance caretaker, met at Brewer Lake on May 18, 2001, at <br />3:30 p.m. to review possible improvements to the park there. A number of <br />recommendations were made by the committee, and a list was furnished to members <br />prior to today's meeting. Mr. Burley explained each recommendation. <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mrs. Sorum moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to close the <br />road between the playground area and the swimming beach for <br />safety reasons, and narrow it down to a walkway, at an <br />estimated cost of $300. The work is to be done as soon as <br />possible. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Meyer moved and Mr. Peterson seconded to authorize Keith <br />Burley to contact the North Dakota Game and Fish Department <br />concerning cost participation in widening the road at the west <br />end leading to the boat ramp, for safety reasons. The road has <br />been temporarily closed now. Motion carried. <br /> <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mrs. Sorum moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to hire local <br />help to pull weeds from the swimming area, at an estimated <br />cost not to exceed $100. On roll call vote, the motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Two recommendations were authorized at the last meeting, these being establishing an <br />accessible route to the fishing pier for handicapped individuals and graveling as needed. <br />
