<br />Commission Minutes--June 18, 2001 2303 <br /> <br />16. <br /> <br />VOUCHERS, ADDroved <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mrs. Schneider moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to approve Voucher <br />No. 153,687 through No. 154,195. On roll call vote, the motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />-- <br /> <br />17. REGISTER OF DEEDS NAME CHANGE; BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS UPDATE; MEETING <br />UPDATES; MAPLE RIVER DAM ENDORSEMENT; REDISTRICTING HEARING, Committee <br />reDorts <br />Due to a change in State law, the office of Register of Deeds will now be called the County <br />Recorder, effective August 1, 2001, and Bonnie Johnson has placed an order to update signs <br />accordingly, throughout the Courthouse. <br /> <br />Mrs. Johnson reported on installation of new security equipment at the Courthouse entrance, <br />and installation of an overhead projector and two viewing screens in the Commission Room. <br /> <br />Commissioners and staff reported on meetings they have attended in the past two weeks, as <br />well as upcoming meetings. <br /> <br />-- <br /> <br />Mrs. Sorum provided a fact sheet to all Commissioners concerning the Maple River Dam, and <br />she said the County Commission is being asked to write a letter of support for the dam. <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Wagner seconded to write a letter of <br />endorsement for construction of the Maple River Dam, to be signed <br />by the Commission Chairman, John Meyer. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Mr. Meyer reported that the Cass County Redistricting Board held an organizational meeting <br />on June 11, 2001, and set a public hearing on the date of June 28th at 5:00 PM in the <br />Commission Room, Cass County Courthouse. <br /> <br />18. CORRESPONDENCE, Received and filed <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to receive and file <br />correspondence outlined by the secretary as follows: information <br />from Federal Emergency ManagementAgency (FEMA), received June <br />8,2001, concerning Preliminary Flood Insurance Rate Maps and Flood <br />Insurance Study Reports. Motion carried. <br /> <br />19.
