Club
members Lorne Sterner and Ken Klingenstein were present to answer any questions. Mr.
Sterner said the Cass County Wildlife Club is very much in favor of this acquisition, and they
have some ideas on making this area handicapped accessible for bird watching, which is
becoming a fast-growing recreation.

Mr. Wieland asked Frank Klein, County Tax Equalization Director, to comment on the
property acquisition since the property was inspected on March 26, 2001, by Mr. Klein and
the Commission Chairman, John Meyer. Mr. Klein said the railroad track has been
abandoned and he could see no other good use for the land other than to include it in the
existing Waterfowl Production Area.

At this time, Mr. Meyer invited additional public comments and asked that the record show
that no one else provided input at this time. Written comments may be submitted to the Cass
County Commission Office, P.O. Box 2806, Fargo, North Dakota, until May 11, 2001.
