<br />........ <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />,- <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />Park Board Minutes-April 16, 2001 1 <br /> <br />CASS COUNTY PARK BOARD <br />APRIL 16, 2001--1:00 PM <br /> <br />MEETING TO ORDER <br />A meeting of the Cass County Park Board was called to order by last year's Chairman, Alon <br />Wieland, at 1 :00 PM in the Commission Room, Cass County Courthouse. All members were <br />present as follows: John Meyer, Robyn Sorum, Donna Schneider, Scott Wagner, Alon <br />Wieland, Keith Burley and Chad Peterson. Others present were Michael Montplaisir, County <br />Auditor, and Louis Rieke, Brewer Lake caretaker. <br /> <br />Mr. Wieland introduced the newest member, Chad Peterson, and welcomed him to the Park <br />Board. He replaces Mike Scherweit, who did not seek reappointment to the board. <br /> <br />2. MINUTES APPROVED <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Meyer moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded that the minutes of <br />the previous meeting of July 17, 2000, be approved as written. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />3. <br /> <br />ELECT CHAIR AND VICE CHAIR FOR 2001 <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Burley moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to nominate Alon <br />Wieland as Chairman of the Cass County Park Board for 2001. Mr. <br />Wieland asked for further nominations. Mr. Meyer moved and Mrs. <br />Sorum seconded that nominations cease and the secretary cast a <br />unanimous ballot for Mr. Wieland as Chairman for 2001. Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wieland called for nominations for Vice Chairman. Mr. Wagner <br />moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to nominate Chad Peterson as <br />Vice Chairman ofthe Cass County Park Board for 2001. Mr. Wieland <br />asked for further nominations and hearing none, Mrs. Schneider <br />moved and Mrs. Sorum seconded that nominations cease and the <br />secretary cast a unanimous ballot for Mr. Peterson as Vice Chairman <br />for 2001. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />4. MATCHING FUND APPLICATIONS, No solicitation for Droiects other than Brewer Lake <br />Brewer Lake projects will be the County Park Board's funding priority once again, according <br />to Mr. Wieland. Budget money will be spent on maintenance and whatever upgrades are <br />needed at the county park, rather than soliciting applications for matching fund projects. <br /> <br />5. <br /> <br />BREWER LAKE, Maintenance and new Droiects <br />Mr. Burley prepared a list of items for the board's consideration today, and a handicapped- <br />accessible ramp was the first one discussed. The group talked about the need for the ramp <br />to meet guidelines of the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) and the material to be used <br />to make an accessible route to the ramp. <br />
