<br />Commission Minutes--November 6, 2000 2215 <br /> <br />to use, however, county staff learned that a decision has already been made to spend $400,000 <br />to re-write UCIS to mirror PCSS. <br /> <br />Dorothy Howard, Clerk of Court, asked how much time the County Commission is willing to <br />allow on the part of her staff, who are still county employees, during this transition period. She <br />believes the time involvement will be quite extensive in terms of training and conversion to a <br />new computer system. <br /> <br />Mr. Wieland, and other members of the Commission, as well as county staff are very <br />disappointed in the decision being made by the State without regard to Cass County's input. <br />A letter will be drafted for each commissioners' consideration before it is mailed to the Supreme <br />Court Justices, with several points outlined by Mr. Wieland. <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Quick seconded to authorize the <br />chairman to sign a letter to the North Dakota Supreme Court Justices <br />concerning the integrated court software program, as outlined by Mr. <br />Wieland at today's meeting. On roll call vote, motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />13. VOUCHERS, Approved <br />Mr. Koenig said vouchers were reviewed by Mrs. Schneider, and she did not find anything <br />unusual in the bills. Due to a conflict, Mrs. Schneider left the meeting about 4:30 PM, which <br />was before this item on the agenda. <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Koenig moved and Mrs. Quick seconded to approve Voucher No. <br />145,523 through No. 146,055. On roll call vote, motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />14. MEETING UPDATES; UNITED WAY; LEGISLATIVE LUNCHEON, COMMUNITY ISSUES <br />RETREAT; ELECTION/CANV ASSING BOARD; TOWNSHIP OFFICERS' ASSOCIATION <br />FALL MEETING, Committee reports <br />Commissioners reported on meetings they have attended in the past two weeks, as well as <br />upcoming meetings. <br /> <br />Bonnie Johnson, County Coordinator, said the annual United Way Campaign has begun and <br />all county employees are encouraged to participate. <br /> <br />A tentative date of November 21, 2000, was discussed for an 11 :30 luncheon meeting in the <br />Commission Room between Cass County department heads and Cass County legislators to <br />discuss issues for the 2001 legislative session. <br /> <br />Mrs. Johnson reminded Commissioners about registering forthe third annual Community Issues <br />Retreat to be held Thursday, December 14,2000, from 1 :00 -6:00 PM at the HjemkomstCenter. <br /> <br />Michael Montplaisir, County Auditor, reported there has been a record number of people voting <br />by absentee ballot for tomorrow's election. The Cass County Canvassing Board meets Monday, <br />November 13, 2000, at 11 :00 AM in the Commission Room, Cass County Courthouse. <br />
