PERMIT FOR RAFFLE, Aooroved for Four Corners Wildlife Club <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to approve raffle <br />permit for Four Corners Wildlife Club to be held November 30, 2000, <br />at the Embden Senior Center, Embden, North Dakota. On roll call <br />vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />8. SOCIAL SERVICES, Budget adiustment for refugee case aide proiect <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to approve Social <br />Services budget adjustment for the refugee case aide project, <br />according to memorandum and correspondence from Kathy Hogan <br />dated August 25,2000. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />9. PERMIT FOR SPECIAL EVENT, Approved for Fargo American Legion Club <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to approve a special <br />event permit for the Fargo American Legion Club to dispense <br />alcoholic beverages at Bonanzaville on September 15, 2000, for a <br />wedding dance. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />10. CONTRACT APPROVAL, North Dakota Department of Transportation <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to approve the <br />following contract submitted by respective department head and <br />portfolio commissioner, subject to state's attorney approval; and <br />authorize the chairman to sign: On roll call vote motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />North Dakota Department of Transportation for railroad crossing improvements <br />at various locations, with Cass County paying 10% of the construction cost. <br /> <br />11. ROAD DEPARTMENT, Bridge settlement in Hill Townshio <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to authorize the <br />county engineer to accept a settlement offer from NoDak Mutual <br />Insurance Company for a wooden bridge in Sections 11-14, Hill <br />Township, in the amount of $65,280. The bridge was destroyed by <br />fire in the Spring of 1999. On roll call vote, motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />12. SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT, Special events rate increase <br />Chief Deputy Jim Thoreson was present to request an increase in special events rates to $35.00 <br />per hour, with deputies who work the events to receive $30.00 per hour compensation, effective <br />January 1, 2001. Mr. Thoreson said events sponsors now pay $25.00 per hour to the county <br />for security services, and that rate has remained the same for the past 6-8 years. Of that <br />$25.00 per hour, deputies receive $20.00 per hour to police the special events. <br />
