Commission Minutes--September 5,2000 2187 MOTION, passed Mr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to add railroad right-of-way in Section 13, Township 139, Range 53, Gill Township, as omitted property for 2000 in the amount of $3,000 agricultural land, according to notice sent from the county auditor to Margaret M. Baumler, Casselton, North Dakota. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. MOTION, passed Mr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to add railroad right-of-way in partofthe SE 1/4, Section 29, Township 139, Range 53, as omitted property for 2000 in the amount of $500 agricultural land, according to notice sent from the county auditor to Robert Duckstad, Minneapolis, Minnesota. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. MOT/ON, passed Mr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to add railroad right-of-way in partofthe NW 1/4, Section 6, Township 138, Range 53, as omitted property for 2000 in the amount of $300 agricultural land, according to notice sent from the county auditor to Shirley & David Bourdeaux, Carpentersville, Illinois. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. 6. SELECTIVE SERVICE SYSTEM AWARENESS WEEK, Proclamation MOTION, passed Mr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to authorize the chairman to sign the following Selective Service System Awareness Week Proclamation: On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. WHEREAS, The mission of the Selective Service System is to deliver untrained manpower to the Armed Forces of the United States in times of national emergency; and WHEREAS, the mobilization readiness of the Selective Service System is achieved principally through its program of registering all young men between the ages of 18 and 26; and WHEREAS, the success of peacetime registration effort is dependent upon a high degree of public awareness of the Selective Service System, registration requirements and maximum compliance of all eligible registrants; and WHEREAS, an effective Selective Service System is contingent upon a coordinated and cooperative effort to increase public awareness of the importance of a national mobilization readiness program and critical need for all eligible young men to fulfill their registration obligation. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the County of Cass, in Fargo, North Dakota, does hereby proclaim the week of September 17th - 23rd as Selective Service System Awareness Week.
