<br />Commission Minutes--September 5,2000 2187 <br /> <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to add railroad <br />right-of-way in Section 13, Township 139, Range 53, Gill Township, as <br />omitted property for 2000 in the amount of $3,000 agricultural land, <br />according to notice sent from the county auditor to Margaret M. <br />Baumler, Casselton, North Dakota. On roll call vote, motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to add railroad <br />right-of-way in partofthe SE 1/4, Section 29, Township 139, Range 53, <br />as omitted property for 2000 in the amount of $500 agricultural land, <br />according to notice sent from the county auditor to Robert Duckstad, <br />Minneapolis, Minnesota. On roll call vote, motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />MOT/ON, passed <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to add railroad <br />right-of-way in partofthe NW 1/4, Section 6, Township 138, Range 53, <br />as omitted property for 2000 in the amount of $300 agricultural land, <br />according to notice sent from the county auditor to Shirley & David <br />Bourdeaux, Carpentersville, Illinois. On roll call vote, motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />6. SELECTIVE SERVICE SYSTEM AWARENESS WEEK, Proclamation <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to authorize the <br />chairman to sign the following Selective Service System Awareness <br />Week Proclamation: On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The mission of the Selective Service System is to deliver untrained manpower to <br />the Armed Forces of the United States in times of national emergency; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the mobilization readiness of the Selective Service System is achieved principally <br />through its program of registering all young men between the ages of 18 and 26; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the success of peacetime registration effort is dependent upon a high degree of <br />public awareness of the Selective Service System, registration requirements and maximum <br />compliance of all eligible registrants; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, an effective Selective Service System is contingent upon a coordinated and <br />cooperative effort to increase public awareness of the importance of a national mobilization <br />readiness program and critical need for all eligible young men to fulfill their registration <br />obligation. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the County of Cass, in Fargo, North Dakota, does <br />hereby proclaim the week of September 17th - 23rd as Selective Service System Awareness <br />Week. <br />
