<br />This is an estimate on the cost of the furniture,
<br />fixtures, equipment, supplies, etc to open the building.
<br />These items would include everything form waste baskets,
<br />to desks, chairs, laundry equipment (other than the fixed
<br />equipment in the construction bids), kitchen equipment
<br />(again, other than the fixed equipment in the construction
<br />bids), and jail maintenance equipment. NOTE that the
<br />Transition Plan of December 1999, page 5 of the action
<br />plan calls for the specific list of equipment to be
<br />developed in June of 2001 with specifications and bidding
<br />to be completed by 7/7/2001.

<br />Staffing
<br />Also included in the $3,000,000 - depending on if funds
<br />are available, is the hiring of the new correctional staff
<br />and training them prior to the opening of the jail. These
<br />staff will have to be hired starting in July of 2001 with
<br />a start date of 11/16/2001 so that they can go through
<br />training before the new jail opens, again, see the
<br />Transition Plan of December 1999, page 9 of the action
<br />plan.
