ROAD DEPARTMENT, Purchase orders approved for a mower and a compactor <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to approve and <br />authorize the chairman to sign a purchase order for one John Deere <br />bat-wing mower in the amount of $7,590.00 from RDO Equipment <br />Company, Kindred, North Dakota. On roll call vote, motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to approve and <br />authorize the chairman to sign a purchase order for one Ingersoll- <br />Rand compactor in the amount of $25,200.00 from Swanston <br />Equipment Company of Fargo. On roll call vote, motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />8. CONTRACT APPROVAL, Retro Building Systems: Jim Bortnem EnterDrises. Inc. <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to approve the <br />following contracts submitted by respective department head and <br />portfolio commissioner, subject to state's attorney approval; and <br />authorize the chairman to sign: On roll call vote, motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Retro Building Systems for construction of weed and vector building; <br />Jim Bortnem Enterprises, Inc. for transfer of tower lease. <br /> <br />9. ABATEMENT APPLICATIONS, Cheryl Kelly and Carl Peterson Farms <br />Frank Klein, Director of Equalization, reported on his investigation and recommendation on <br />abatement applications submitted by Cheryl Kelly for property located in Harwood Township. <br />Ms. Kelly was not present at today's meeting. <br /> <br />The Harwood Township Board approved the abatement in part, and Mr. Klein's recommendation <br />is as follows: that the1997 value be set at $100,000, that the 1998 value be lowered to $92,000 <br />because of 1997 flood damage, and that the value for 1999 remain at $96,000. Mr. Klein also <br />recommends granting the homestead credit applications submitted by Ms. Kelly for the years <br />1997, 1998 and 1999 based upon written statements from two physicians. <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Koenig seconded that Abatement #4158 <br />for Cheryl Kelly (year 1997) be reduced to $100,000; that Abatement <br />#4159 for Cheryl Kelly (year 1998) be reduced to $92,000 and that <br />Abatement #4160 for Cheryl Kelly (year 1999) be denied as <br />recommended by the Director of Equalization and the Harwood <br />Township Board; and further, that the homestead credit applications <br />be approved for 1997, 1998 and 1999. On roll call vote, motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />
