It is more efficient to have an evidence <br /> room located in the same building as the investigators and patrol deputies. <br /> In the traditional "old school"perspective, the work place is viewed solely as a physical <br /> container for work. Current research shows, and leading businesses agree, that the workplace <br /> significantly influences employee satisfaction, health, hiring retention and productivity (GSA <br /> office of Government wide policy 2006). <br /> It is obvious that a new building would cost significantly more than renting initially. Currently <br /> the Sheriff's Office pays $51,384.00 including the average utilities annually. At the end of the <br /> year the money is gone, providing no return on the lease and the Sheriffs Office does not receive <br /> any return on improvements to the building. Whereas a new structure would have a return on the <br /> investment as the stakeholders own it. The investment is not solely the structure; it is an <br /> opportunity to grow and develop Cass County's future. <br /> Other <br /> Currently we have our Corrections Emergency Response Team (CERT)room in the Work <br /> Release area, this is not very feasible considering inmates are very close and the types of <br /> weapons we have in this room. A CERT room, with an armory, for CERT equipment and armory <br /> for storage of cert and extra jail weaponry <br /> Interview/interrogation/contact visitation rooms, we often run out of these room during the day, <br /> it would be nice to have more of them. There are many times we having attorneys or other law <br /> enforcement agencies' having to standby and wait for a room to open up. <br />
