We have no location for body storage or space for processing in the event <br /> of a multi-body death event (mass fatality). <br /> The Cass County Coroner's Office would include a lobby/reception/waiting area, a family <br /> interview room, coroner office, deputy coroner office (shared), triage, 2 examination/autopsy <br /> rooms which would allow for external exams, drawing toxicology samples, photos, gathering <br /> evidence and body identification, a walk-in cooler, clean and soiled utility rooms, storage room, <br /> a garage (possibly shared with law enforcement), men's and women's restroom and staff <br /> restroom. <br /> We believe this facility would allow for a functional Coroner's Office that is tied to a Cass <br /> County Structure, Cass County IT services and Cass County government culture and governance. <br /> We believe this facility will meet current demands on the Cass County Coroner's Office, yet <br /> allow the Coroner's Office to handle the predicted growth of population in Cass County in the <br /> coming years. <br /> Sheriff's Office Field Services Division <br /> Currently the Cass County Sheriff's Office leases office space at 3321 4th Avenue South. The <br /> annual lease cost for 2013 is $48,000.00, $40,500.00 for the office space and $7,500.00 for the <br /> garage space. The building space consists of 3,000 square feet of office space and 600 square <br /> feet of garage space. The Sheriff's Office is responsible for the utilities which average $77.00 a <br /> month for natural gas and $205.00 for electricity. The patrol and investigations staff shares this <br /> office space identified as the West Station. <br /> The space is separated by eight offices, a break room, squad room with cubicles, two bathrooms <br /> and a small IT room which doubles as a supply storage room.
