environment for our work release participants with an area designed for both men and women <br /> participants with sight and sound separation and metal detectors located in both male and female <br /> locker rooms to help aide in the strip searching of inmates upon returning from work as another <br /> safeguard in preventing the introduction of contraband into the facility. <br /> The 24/7 program lobby includes the same goal of safety and security along with an area large <br /> enough to handle foot traffic of up to 400+participants twice daily for their testing requirements. <br /> Below, we will outline the current vision of what this would look like which is a shared vision <br /> with our current Work Release Coordinator, Cpl. Chad Violet. We believe this plan will ensure <br /> compliance with our objectives and provide the necessary equipment and design structure needed <br /> to take work release and 24/7 into the future with its ever growing demands and requirements. <br /> Work Release Housing Unit <br /> A 68-bed total structure. 40 Male beds in one dormitory style unit with a shower and bathroom <br /> facility with approximately 5 separate showers. Counter space in the day area with a sink and <br /> cabinetry. We would like to see a bunk bed configuration with storage totes underneath versus <br /> our current single bunk configuration. The shower facilities in this dorm should not be near the <br /> day area but rather back by the sleeping area. <br /> This addition within the same wing will have a 16-bed female housing unit that has sight and <br /> sound separation from the males. At no time should the males and females be able to look across <br /> from the officer station and see each other through windows. <br /> A separate 12-bed dorm to house those work release participants working an evening or <br /> overnight shift so as to not interrupt those participants working a daytime schedule.
