CONSTITUTION AND BY-LAWS EL ZAGAL'S ESCORT MOTOR PATROL <br /> REVISED 12/12/2009 <br /> ARTICLE VI <br /> Duties if the Officers <br /> Section 1. Director: The Director shall preside at all meetings of the organization as well <br /> as meetings of the Executive Committee and shall exercise general supervision of the <br /> affairs of the organization. He shall appoint all committees that he deems necessary <br /> and shall be a member of each committee. <br /> Following the unit annual meeting the Director shall appoint two members to the <br /> finance committee. They must then be approved by a majority vote of the unit <br /> membership. <br /> Section 2. Assistant Director: The Assistant Director shall in the absence or the disability <br /> of the Director perform such other duties as may be prescribed by the Director and <br /> exercise the powers of the Director. Some of the other responsibilities of the Assistant <br /> Director are as follows: <br /> 1. Arrange social functions. The Assistant Director shall arrange unit social <br /> functions whenever necessary and see that the units social activities are as <br /> full as possible during the year. <br /> 2. Membership committee. The Assistant Director shall be in charge of <br /> promoting the Escort Motor Patrol as regards to membership. Some of his <br /> duties include organizing membership booster parties and formation of a <br /> committee to promote the Escort Motor Patrol membership. <br /> Section 3. Secretary: The Secretary shall attend all meetings of the organization and <br /> the Executive Committee and shall keep records of the minute and proceedings in a <br /> minute book to be kept for that purpose. He shall call roll at each meeting and keep a <br /> record of attendance. He shall notify the members of pending meetings. He or his <br /> appointee will send a written notice to all members not more than 30 days nor less than <br /> 5 days prior to a called meeting, when any of the following are to be considered: <br /> 1. Expulsion or suspension of any member. <br /> 2. Any unit expenditure exceeding $50.00 <br /> 3. All annual meetings. <br /> 4. Elections of new members to the unit. <br /> Some of the other duties of the Secretary are as follows: <br /> A. The Secretary will be responsible for maintaining the proper lines of <br /> communications between the Escort Motor Patrol and the Potentate <br /> and his Divan and the rest of the temple as a whole. The Secretary <br /> and his appointee will be responsible for representing the Escort <br /> Motor Patrol at all Uniform Units Council meetings. He will also be <br /> responsible for dealing with temple officers and relaying any of their <br /> requests to the Director <br /> B. The Secretary or his appointee shall be responsible for providing a <br /> monthly article representing the Escort Motor Patrol in El Zagal's <br />
