CONSTITUTION AND BY-LAWS EL ZAGAL'S ESCORT MOTOR PATROL <br /> REVISED 12/12/2009 <br /> ARTICLE IV <br /> Dues <br /> Section 1. The annual dues shall be $50.00 per member and shall be due and payable <br /> in advance or at the time of the annual meeting. Honorary and Life Members shall be <br /> exempt from dues payment. Any member in arrears in his dues on January 1st will <br /> automatically be dropped from the rolls and mailing list and the Treasurer shall mail a <br /> registered notice of delinquency on or before December 1st of the year advising the <br /> delinquent member that if his dues are not paid by January 1st such member will <br /> automatically be dropped as indicated above. <br /> Section 2. The MSMCA dues applicable to driving team members will be due with the <br /> annual unit dues. <br /> ARTICLE V <br /> Organization <br /> Section 1. A Temple Officer appointed by the Potentate shall, whenever possible, attend <br /> all business meetings of the El Zagal Escort Motor Patrol to act as a liaison officer for the <br /> Potentate and his Divan. <br /> Section2. The Executive Committee shall be made up of the following: Director, <br /> Assistant Director, Secretary, and Treasurer. <br /> Section 3. Election of officers: All officers shall be elected at the Annual meeting and <br /> shall hold office for one year or until their successors are elected and assume office. <br /> Section 4. The position of Drill Captain shall be appointive at the discretion of the <br /> Executive Committee. This position shall be held for one year and may be re-appointed <br /> by the ensuing years Executive Committee. <br /> Section 5. Prior to the annual meeting, the Director shall appoint a nominating <br /> committee that shall be made up of four members who shall prepare a recommendation <br /> proposing names of members for the election of office and such recommendations shall <br /> be read at the annual meeting. Any member of the nominating committee shall not be <br /> precluded from office nomination. In addition to the proposed names however, <br /> nominations may be made from the floor at the annual meeting. The member receiving <br /> a majority of all votes cast for the office balloted upon shall be declared to be elected. <br /> Section 6. Should a vacancy occur in an office for any reason, the Director shall appoint <br /> one of the members of the organization to fill the vacancy so created, or until such time <br /> a special election may be held for the purpose of electing a member to said office for <br /> the balance of the ensuing term. <br />
