Commission Minutes--August 26, 1997 1695 <br /> <br />DEPARTMENT HEADS--PLEASE POSt IN a CONSPICUOUS PLACE FOR STAFF TO READ <br /> <br />SPECIAL MEETING OF CASS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />MEETING IN BUDGET SESSION <br /> AUGUST 26, 1997 <br /> <br />MEETING TO ORDER <br />Chairman Alon Wieland called the budget meeting to order at 8:00 AM in the Commission Room, <br />Cass County Courthouse, with all members present as follows: Donna Schneider, Paul Koenig, <br />John Meyer, Roberta Quick and Alon Wieland. <br /> <br />Budgets of various county departments and outside agencies were discussed with respective <br />department heads and agency representatives. <br /> <br />BUDGETING DECISIONS <br />State's Attorney <br /> MOTION, failed <br /> Mrs. Schneider moved to amend personnel policy, section 6.40, whereby <br /> the county would pay 100%, rather than 50%, of the cost of a license or <br /> certificate when it is required for the performance of job duties. Motion <br /> failed for lack of a second. <br /> <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Meyer moved and Mr. Koenig seconded to fund drug grant employee <br />in the State's Attorney's Office at 28%, subject to continued grant <br />funding. On roll call vote, motion carried with three members voting <br />"Aye"; Mrs. Quick and Mrs. Schneider opposing. <br /> <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Koenig moved and Mr. Meyer seconded to delete $900 for Fax <br />machine, delete $450 for TV and $300 for VCR in the State's Attorney <br />budget. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Koenig had another commitment at this time and left the meeting about 2:15 PM. <br /> <br />Register of Deeds MOTION, passed <br /> Mrs. Schneider moved and Mrs. Quick seconded to add $6,400 in revenue <br /> in the Register of Deeds budget, to add copier expense of $1,400, and to <br /> delete $18,150 from computer equipment. On roll call vote, motion carried <br /> with four members present voting "Aye." <br /> <br />Red River Valley Fair MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Meyer moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to reduce the request of <br /> the Red River Valley Fair Association to $85,000, with a single payment to <br /> be made in January. On roll call vote, motion carried with four members <br /> present voting "Aye." <br /> <br /> <br />
