Commission Minutes--April 28, 1997 1611 <br /> <br />DEPARTMENT HEADS--PLEASE POST IN A CONSPICUOUS PLACE FOR STAFF TO READ <br /> <br /> REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> APRIL 28, 1997 <br />MEETING TO ORDER <br />Chairman Alon Wieland called the meeting to order at 3:30 PM with all members present as <br />follows: Donna Schneider, Paul Koenig, John Meyer, Roberta Quick and Alon Wieland. <br /> <br />MINUTES APPROVED MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Meyer moved and Mrs. Quick seconded that the minutes of the last <br /> regular meeting held April 7, 1997, and the special meeting held April <br /> 19, 1997, be approved as written. On roll call vote, motion carried <br /> unanimously. <br /> <br />AGENDA, Order approved MOTION, passed <br /> Mrs. Schneider moved and Mr. Meyer seconded to approve the order <br /> of the agenda with the following changes to the consent agenda: 1) <br /> add clean-up plan established by County Engineer under flood-related <br /> items; 2) add item for waiving detention center costs for Grand Forks <br /> County for 30 days; and 3) add contract with Barnes County for board <br /> of prisoners. To the regular agenda, Mr. Wieland asked for reports <br /> from departments most impacted by the flood situation. Motion carried. <br /> <br />FLOOD RELATED ITEMS, Extend storm leave policy; use of motor pool vehicle; waive copy <br />fee for deed preparation for Federal cjovernment; sandbaq disposal; detention costs <br />waived for Grand Forks County MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Koenig moved and Mrs. Quick seconded to extend storm leave <br /> policy to include "flood days" authorized by the County Commission <br /> for the afternoon of April 9th and all day on April 10, 11, 16, 17 and 18, <br /> 1997. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Koenig moved and Mrs. Quick seconded to authorize Rex Lusty to <br />use a motor pool vehicle while he and his family are displaced from <br />their home in Oakport Township because of flood waters. On roll call <br />vote, motion carded unanimously. <br /> <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Koenig moved and Mrs. Quick seconded to approve the Register <br />of Deeds waiving the copying fee and miscellaneous charges for <br />preparing deeds for the Federal government, particularly the SBA <br />(Small Business Administration) in flood-relief work; and to authorize <br />the Treasurer's Office to assist in the research for the Register of <br />Deeds on this work. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> <br />
