Minutes--September 26, 1995 1392 <br /> <br />DEPARTMENT HEADS--PLEASE POST IN A CONSPICUOUS PLACE FOR STAFF TO READ <br /> <br />SPECIAL MEETING OF CASS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> SEPTEMBER 26, 1995 <br /> <br />MEETING TO ORDER <br />Chairman Bernie Ness called the meeting to order at 3:30 PM with all members present as <br />follows: Don Eckert, Sharon "Pepper" Toussaint, Alon Wieland, Donna Schneider and Bernie <br />Ness. <br /> <br />BUDGET FOR 1996, To be finalized <br />Mr. Ness said this special meeting was called for the purpose of approving the 1996 final budget <br />for Cass County. Written suggestions for balancing the budget were circulated among all <br />commissioners by Mrs. Toussaint, Mrs. Schneider, Mr. Wieland and Mr. Ness. <br /> <br />STATE'S ATTORNEY, Intern salaries MOTION, passed <br /> Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to reduce State's <br /> Attorney's education/seminars line item from $4,624 to $3,624; to <br /> reduce travel from $4,500 to $3,500; and to add $4,306 to a new line <br /> item, "intern salaries." On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />VETERAN'S SERVICE, Salary_ reduced because of recent resignation of department head <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to reduce <br /> Veteran's Service Office department head salary line item from $35,196 <br /> to $28,848 and reduce benefits by $1,000 because of the recent <br /> resignation of Veteran's Service Officer. On roll call vote, motion <br /> carried unanimously. <br /> <br />AMBULANCE SERVICE, Levy increase from equivalent of .15 mills to e~_uivalent of .50 mills <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to increase the rural <br /> ambulance levy from the equivalent of .15 mills to the equivalent of .50 <br /> mills. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />FARGO CASS COUNTY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, Funding at 1995 dollar amount <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to approve <br /> funding for Fargo Cass County Economic Development Corporation <br /> (FCCEDC) in 1996 at the same dollar amount as in 1995. Discussion: <br /> Mr. Wieland believes the Cass County Commission should honor the <br /> existing contract with FCCEDC, which expires at the end of 1996. Mr. <br /> Eckert also believes in honoring the contract, however Mr. Ness said <br /> FCCEDC has not fulfilled their part of the contract concerning the loan <br /> <br /> <br />
