Accountant Mike Hontplaisir outlined the
areas to be reviewed today.

AMBULANCE LEVY, Policy adopted/budget approved MOTION, passed
Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Sondra11 seconded to adopt the
ambulance subsidy policy, prepared by Mr. Hontplaisir and
reviewed by the States Attorney, with the intent that the
policy be incorporated into the budget and a copy mailed to
the ambulance services. On roll call vote, motion carried
unanimously.,.
MOTION, passed
Mrs. loussaint moved and Mr. Wie]and seconded to adopt the
figures for ambulance subsidy as outlined in the budget
with the exception of reducing requested funds for
Casse]ton Ambulance Service from $10,000 to $7,000 and
reducing requested funds for Harwood Area Fire & Rescue
from $7,500 to $4,000.
Discussion:
Hr. Eckert said the Casselton Ambulance Service covers a
larger area which necessitates a larger total budget and
more personnel training than the other rural ambulance
services. Mr. Wieland said it appears that $7,000 would be
adequate for supplies and training expenses for 1991,
according to their financial statement. At the call for
the question and on roll call vote, the motion carried with
four members voting "Aye", Mr. Sondra]l opposing.

AUDITOR, Budget approved
Mr. Montplaisir said a line item was added for a filing system and
supplies and for a copier. He said no funds were included for
elections this year since none are scheduled. Mr. Wieland was
concerned about another tax referral vote, but Mr. Montplaisir said
he increased the contingency fund in case a special election is
called.

Other departments included a budget line item for copiers also. Most
of the offices on first floor use the copier in the Auditor's Office,
so Mr. Montp]aisir suggested that the Personnel Department take the
present copier from there.

A question was raised about salaries since Ordelle Brua's term ends
next April. Mr. Hontplaisir is running unopposed for the position on
the November election ballot. He said he budgeted for his current
position but at a lesser amount because the duties will be different.
