Comm. Minutes--September 28, 1989 351 <br /> <br />SPECIAL MEETING OF CASS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />SEPTEMBER 28, 1989 <br /> <br />1. MEETING TO ORDER <br />Chairman Don Eckert called the special meeting to order with ail <br />members present as follows: Oscar Sondrall, Alon Wieland, Don Eckert, <br />Sharon "Pepper" Toussaint, and Gene Shannon. <br /> <br />2. FAIR, Levy approved MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Sondra11 seconded to levy the sum <br /> of $102,200 for the Red River Valley Fair Association with <br /> an annotation in the budget that for next year their budget <br /> request will be limited to the actual amount spent for <br /> premiums, trophies and liability insurance. Motion <br /> carried. <br /> <br />3. SENIOR CITIZENS, Levy approved MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Shannon moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded to adopt the <br /> budget for the Senior Citizens at $260,000 with the balance <br /> up to the levy limitation being held as a reserve for that <br /> amount, and that the funds be divided equally between the <br /> two participating organizations with an annotation in the <br /> budget that the Commission appreciates and encourages the <br /> continued cooperation between the two agencies for the most <br /> effective implementation of the two programs. Motion <br /> carried. <br /> <br />4. AMBULANCE SERVICES, Levy approved MOTION, withdrawn <br /> Mr. Shannon moved and Mrs. Toussaint seconded to allow zero <br /> dollars for the F-M Ambulance Service for 1990, Mr. <br /> Wieland suggested one motion for all of the ambulance <br /> services that requested County funds, Mr, Shannon moved <br /> and Mrs, Toussaint seconded to withdraw the motion. Motion <br /> carried. <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded to fund the <br /> Page, Kindred and Hunter Ambulance Services and the <br /> Enderlin Area Rescue Squad at $4,000 each for 1990, the <br /> Casselton Ambulance Service at $6,000, and zero dollars for <br /> the F-M Ambulance Service. Mr. Wieland moved to amend the <br /> motion to add $1,000 to the sum for the Casselton Ambulance <br /> Service. Mr. Shannon seconded the amended motion and it <br /> carried. Motion carried on the main motion. <br /> <br />5. HEALTH DISTRICT, Levy approved MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Shannon moved and Mrs. Toussaint seconded to approve <br /> the dollar amount of $220,000 for the Health District levy <br /> with an annotation in the budget that it be placed in <br /> escrow subject to: 1) The Auditor and Accountant, together <br /> with the States Attorney as might be needed, conduct an <br /> investigation from the County's point of view into the <br /> <br /> <br />
