Comm, Minutes--July 11, 1989 283 <br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY BOARD OF COHMISSIONERS <br /> <br />JULY 11, 1989 <br /> <br />1, MEETING TO ORDER <br />Chairman Don Eckert called the meeting to order with all members <br />present as follows: Oscar Sondra'll, Alon Wieland, Don Eckert, Sharon <br />"Pepper" Toussaint, and Gene Shannon. <br /> <br />2. MINUTES APPROVED NOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Shannon moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that the <br /> minutes of the previous meeting be approved as written. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> <br />3. DATA PROCESSING, Staff commendation to Roxane Fries~ <br /> NOTION, passed <br /> Hr. Shannon moved and Mrs. Toussaint seconded that the <br /> Chairman be authorized to sign a letter of commendation to <br /> Roxane Friese, Data Processing Department, from the Board <br /> of Commissioners dated July 1.1, 1989, recognizing her as an <br /> outstanding Cass County employee. Motion carried. <br /> <br />4. VOUCHERS, Approved NOTION, passed <br /> Following a brief discussion of some of the bills, <br /> Mr. Sondrall moved and Hr. Shannon seconded that Vouchers <br /> No. 4075 through No. 4896 be approved and ordered paid. On <br /> roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />5. COUNTY COMMISSIONERS & NDACo CONVENTION, Room reservations <br />Mr. Sondra'l I asked if County Auditor Ordelle Brua has reserved motel <br />rooms for the North Dakota Association of Counties and the County <br />Commissioners convention to be held this fa/1 in Grand Forks. She <br />said that she has not made reservations. Mr. Wieland will get <br />confirmation of the dates and advise Mrs. Brua so she can make the <br />necessary r'eservations at the Ramada or Holiday Inn. <br /> <br />6. RED RIVER VALLEY FAIRGROUNDS, Morton BuildinR <br />All Commissioners had been furnished a blueprint of the building to <br />be constructed on the Red River Valley Fairgrounds by Morton <br />Building, Inc. Mrs. Toussaint asked who will own the building, and <br />Jennifer Johnson-Se'ltzer, Fair Manager, stated that the Morton <br />Company will own the building and will pay the insurance. An <br />agreement will be made whereby the Red River Valley Fair Association <br />will have an opportunity to purchase the building at a fair market <br />value after a certain time period. If the Fair Association does not <br />purchase the building, the Morton Company will be asked to remove it. <br /> NOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that the County <br /> Commission approve construction of a Morton Building on the <br /> Red River Valley Fairgrounds at a location to be determined <br /> by both parties, subject to an agreement that would allow <br /> for removal or purchase of the building by the Fair <br /> Association at a future date. On roll call vote, the <br /> motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> <br />
