88 <br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />JUNE <br /> <br /> Chairman Don Eckert called the meeting to order with all members <br />present as follows: Jeannette Stanton, Oscar Sondrall, Alon Wieland, <br />Ray Larson and Don Eokert. <br /> <br /> Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the minutes of <br />the previous meeting be approved as written. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> The Chairman declared a recess and reoonvened after a meeting of <br />the Cass County Building Authority. <br /> <br /> Chairman Eokert suggested that a policy on informing the County <br />Commission of any plans for constructing a building on the Red River <br />Valley Fairgrounds include all buildings, whether owned by the Red <br />River Valley Fair Association or privately owned. The other <br />Commissioners were in agreement. <br /> <br /> Glenn Ellingsberg, Disaster Emergency Manager, appeared before <br />the Board regarding a State ban on the use of fireworks by <br />individuals whenever the National Weather Service issues an "extreme" <br />fire danger index for a specific area of the State. Mr. Ellingsberg <br />did not recommend further action by the County at this time. <br /> <br /> Upon the request of Glenn Ellingsberg, Mr. Larson moved and <br />Mrs. Stanton seconded that the Chairman be authorized to sign an <br />agreement with the City of Hunter for an antenna for emergency first <br />responders. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> It was the consensus of the Commissioners that Glenn Ellingsberg <br />and John Welton conduct a safety inspection at the Red River Valley <br />Fairgrounds as part of their periodic inspections. <br /> <br /> The Commission reviewed a list of terms expiring July 1 and <br />July 31 on various County Boards. Mr. Wieland asked that the <br />appointments to the County Social Services Board be delayed at this <br />time since they do not expire until July 31, 1988. Chairman Eckert <br />was requested to write letters to mayors ~here terms are <br />expiring on city planning and zoning commissions from the <br />extra-territoriaI areas, and request a recommendation from them. <br /> <br /> Administrative Assistant Diana Murack stated that she did not <br />have anything to report. Mrs. Stanton stated that about two weeks <br />ago, she asked Diana to keep a log of what work she was doing but was <br />told last week that she had not done so. Mrs. Stanton moved and <br />Mr. Wieland seconded that Administrative Assistant Diana Murack <br />keep a log of her duties and what work she is doing. <br />Mr. Sondrall asked if Richard Offutt, Director of Administrative <br />Services, prepares a report such as this. Mrs. Stanton stated that <br />he does provide a detailed report to the Commissioners. Diana Muraok <br />stated that she does not feel the direction on where the job is <br />supposed to go is her responsibility, and she suggested having Bob <br />81ack from Eide Helmeke revie~ the Sob description and define some of <br />the duties. She asked for some examples on what to include in a <br />log. Mr. Larson stated that attorneys have log sheets that she could <br /> <br /> <br />
