Motion carried. <br /> <br /> Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded to approve out of <br />state travel for Social Services employees Bev Bohn and Forrest <br />Ammerman to St. Cloud, MN on June 21, 1988. On roll call vote, the <br />motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded to receive and file a <br />letter from Michael Montplaisir accepting the position of <br />County accountant effective July 1, 1988. Motion carried. <br /> <br />The Commissioners were in agreement that Alon Wieland, Acting <br />Chairman of the Cass County Canvassing Board, send a letter to ali <br />District Chairpersons informing them of the difficulty in getting a <br />quorum at the Canvassing Board meeting held Friday, June 17, 1988. <br /> <br /> Mr. Sondrall asked about his attendance at meetings of the <br />Mosquito Abatement Committee since he is not a member of the Cass <br />Oounty Vector Control District. He stated that he received a letter <br />from Oounty Planner Earl Haugen about Earl's membership on the <br />Mosquito Abatement Committee. Mrs. Stanton stated that Mr. Sondrall <br />serves on the Mosquito Abatement Committee as the County's <br />representative to the Metropolitan Council of Governments. <br /> <br /> Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded to authorize <br />Commissioners Eokert and Larson, Jailer Walt Willis and Sheriff Don <br />Rudniok to spend up to $500.00 on an alternative method of air <br />conditioning the 2nd floor of the County Jail. On roll call vote, <br />the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> The Chairman received a copy of a letter to Judge John O. Garaas <br />from Sanitarian Richard Brumfield concerning the Carl Aabye <br />court case. <br /> <br /> Chairman Eokert reported that Judge Norman 8aokes informed him <br />that Georgia Pope Dawson has verbally accepted the position of <br />County Court Judge to replace Cynthia Rothe, and has agreed to begin <br />work by July 11, 1988. <br /> <br /> Mrs. Stanton stated that interviews for County Court <br />Judge to replace Donald J. Oooke will be held in the Commission Room <br />at the Courthouse on June 24, 1988. <br /> <br /> Each Commissioner received a copy of a letter from Social <br />Services Director Tom Jensen addressed to Chairman Don Eokert <br />stating that any overtime payments for Kathy Lateen are at straight <br />time since the position she now holds is exemption status under the <br />FLSA and does not require time and a half. Mrs. Stanton stated that <br />he is still paying her extra money in spite of Commission action. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Larson and seconded by Mr. Wieland, the meeting <br />was adjourned. <br /> <br /> <br />
