54 <br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUN'f'Y BOARD OF' COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />APRIL 26, 1988 <br /> <br /> Chairman Don Eokert called the meeting 'to order with four <br />member's present as follows: Oscar Sondrall, Ray Larson, Alon Wieland <br />and Don Eokert. Commissioner Jeannette Stanton was absent. <br /> <br /> Mr. Larson moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that the minutes of <br />the previous meeting be approved as written. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> County Planner Earl Haugen presented copies of the summary <br />document including goals, policies and objectives of the <br />Comprehensive Land Use Policy Plan along with the background report. <br />The plan has been reviewed and approved by the County Planning <br />Commission and forwarded to the Cass County Commission for* adoption. <br />The matter will be placed on the agenda in 2-5 weeks to allow time <br />'for- examination by the County Commissioners. <br /> <br /> Earl Haugen presented copies of a proposed public participation <br />work plan and a proposed time schedule for facility plan <br />concerning the southside rural sewer project. <br /> <br /> Earl Haugen invited the Cass County Commissioners to attend the <br />County Planning Commission's public hearing on petitions for <br />inOOFpOration of Oxbow, ND to be held on May 4, 1988, at 7:00 PM at <br />the Hiokson Community Center'. <br /> <br /> Mr-. Sondrall moved and Mr. Wieland seconded that the County <br />Auditor be authorized to hire American Information Systems, Inc. 'to <br />pr-ovide election site support for the 1988 Primary Election, at a <br />cost of $1,4OO-$1,5OO. On roll call vote, the motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br /> Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Larson seconded to accept the letter <br />of retirement from Oounty Court Judge Donald Oooke, and send him a <br />letter- thanking him for' his service to Cass County and commending him <br />on the very difficult decision that he made. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> Mr. Larson moved and Mr. Wieland seconded that the Chairman be <br />authorized to send a letter 'to the Judicial Nominating Committee <br />informing them of the vacancy for Cass County Court Judge and <br />requesting them, within 60 days of this notification, to submit a <br />list of qualified nominees for appointment to this office. Motion <br />carried. <br /> <br /> Mr. Larson asked the County Commission to consider the position <br />of a second County Judge being a half-time position, and the <br />Chairman suggested that he discuss it with the States Attorney. <br /> <br /> County Engineer Don Richards suggested that the County pay for <br />· the initial physical examination for- about 20 Road Department <br />employees who will be requir'ed to have i.C.O, physicals as of <br />October 1, 1988. Administrative Assistant Diana Muraok stated that <br />the County may be mandated to pay for the physicals, and Mr. Wieland <br />asked for verification on this. <br /> <br /> <br />
