55 <br /> <br /> Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Lamson seconded to reimburse Jim <br />Tvedt in the amount of $1,177.66 for personal tools lost during the <br />January, 1988, fire a't 'the County Shop in ArgusvilZe, this being <br />subject to the County receiving a letter from Mr. Tvedt's insurance <br />company denying the claim and showing the provision under which it is <br />denied. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> Mr. Sondrall moved and Mr. Wieland seconded that the County <br />Engineer be allowed to advertise for bids for- multi-plate pipes and <br />for the purchase of asphalt for the County Road Department. Motion <br />carried. <br /> <br /> Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that the County <br />Engineer be authorized to write the specifications and to advertise <br />for bids for three mower- tractors and one excavator. Motion carried. <br />Mr. Eokert asked to receive a copy of the specifications before it <br />is advertised. <br /> <br /> A letter from the Associated General Contractor's of North Dakota <br />regarding public bidding was referred to the County Engineer'. <br /> <br /> Member's of the Commission met with Stanley Township officials <br />and residents at the bridge site between Sections 25-24. County <br />Engineer Don Richards stated that he is obliged as a professional <br />engineer to send a letter to the Stanley Township Board of <br />Supervisors recommending that the bridge in its present condition be <br />permanently closed until such time that it is brought up to <br />standards. Mr. Wieland recommended that the Commission hold a public <br />hearing, and the Chairman set the date for May 24, 1988, during tine <br />regular County Commission meeting. <br /> <br /> Regarding a road matter in Normanna Township, <br />the County Engineer to supply cost estimates. <br /> <br />Mr. Wieland asked <br /> <br /> Richard Offutt, Director of Administrative Services, was present <br />regarding bids opened on April 5, 1988, for environmental systems and <br />fire safety equipment maintenance. He asked the Commission to <br />consider the bid of Honeywell which does not include the cost of <br />repairs; and to consider the bid of Peterson Mechanical which is <br />about $3,000 higher but does include the cost of repairs. <br />Mr. Sondrall moved and Mr. Lamson seconded to accept the bid of <br />Peterson Mechanical in the amount of $18,048.00 per year for two <br />years, the second year cost to be not more than a 5% increase over <br />tine first year. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Sheriff Don Rudniok reported that he has very little information <br />available at this time on the cost of a staffing analysis for the <br />Sheriff's Department and Jail. <br /> <br /> Mr. Sondrall moved and Mr. Lamson seconded to adopt Resolution <br />~1988-10 proclaiming the week of May 2--8, 1988~ as Mosquito Awareness <br />Week in Oass Oounty. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> Mr. Sondrall moved and Mr. Lamson seconded to approve out of <br />state travel, for Social Services employees Bev Bohn and Kathy Suedel <br />on May 19, 1988, to Brainerd, MN.
