REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />MARCH i5, 1988 <br /> <br /> Chairman Don Eokert called the meeting <br />members present as follows: Jeannette Stanton, <br />Larson, Alon Wieland and Don Eokert. <br /> <br />to order with all <br />Oscar Sondrall, Ray <br /> <br /> Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the minutes of <br />the previous meeting be approved as written. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> Regarding a joint Law Enforcement Center proposal, Commissioner <br />Larson stated that further information is needed from the Oounty <br />Sheriff. <br /> <br /> Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that the Chairman <br />of the Cass County Commission write a letter to the North Dakota <br />Insurance Reserve Fund designating Administrative Assistant Diana <br />Muraok to represent Cass County at their annual meeting in Bismarck <br />on April 18, 1988. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> 'The Chairman stated that members of the Commission interviewed <br />two people for' the position of County Planner, and both were <br />excellent candidates. Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Wieland seconded <br />to hire Earl Haugen as full-time Cass County Planner effective <br />April 1, 1988, at an annual salary of $19,760.00. On roll call <br />vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Commission members discussed updating the accounting practices <br />in the County Social Services Department. Diana Murack was <br />requested to provide a print-out of accumulated sick leave benefits <br />for County Social Services employees, and the matter was placed on <br />the agenda for March 22, 1988. <br /> <br /> Mr. Larson moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that the Chairman be <br />authorized to sign documents to be sent to the North Dakota <br />Association of Counties on crude oil overcharge refunds from the <br />Department of Energy. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> Upon the recommendation of County Engineer Don Richards, <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that the Chairman be <br />authorized to sign utility permits to U.S. Sprint to place a fiber <br />optic cable under County Roads 1, 5, 5, 11, 15 and 19 on the <br />Burlington Northern Railroad right of way. On roll call vote, the <br />motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Mr. Sondrall moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to approve payment <br />from the Pothole and Street Repair Funds to the City of Buffalo in <br />the amount of $442.00 and to the City of Hunter in the amount of <br />$887.00. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Don Richards reported that load limits have been placed on the <br />County roads, and the Ohairman reported that he sent a letter to the <br />North Dakota Highway Department requesting their assistance in <br />enforcing road restrictions. <br /> <br /> <br />
