13 REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS JANUARY 26, 1988 The meeting was called to order by Vice Chatrman Jeannette Stanton with all members present as follows: Oscar Sondra11, Ray Larson, Alon Wteland, Don Eckert and Jeannette Stanton. Mr. Larson moved and Mr. Eckert seconded that the minutes of the previous meeting of January 19, 1988, be approved as written. Motion carried. Mrs. Stanton informed the Board that Ordelle Brua, County Auditor, would be absent from today's meeting to attend a funeral. Upon the written recommendation of Ordelle Brua, County Auditor, Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Larson seconded to accept the bid of Knight Printing Co. for election supplies. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. lhe Commission decided to table the Application for Abatement and Settlement of Taxes for Cargill, Inc. until the Commission meeting next Tuesday. It was moved by Mr. Wteland and seconded by Mr. Larson to make the following professional salary adjustments for the Assistant States Attorneys within the Cass County States Attorney Office, retroactive to January 1, 1988: 1988 1988 Attorney Requested Approved Requested Professional Adjustment James Twomey $38,000 $3/,152 $ 848 Melody Jensen 34,000 32,087 1,913 Keith Reisenauer 34,000 32,08/ 1,913 John Golf 33,500 31,135 2,365 *Mark Boening 31,500 29,517 1,983 *This position is a full time States Attorney which is shared for budgetary purposes at 30% from the States Attorney and 70% from Regional Child Support. The above adjustment for 1988 of $1,983 would be shared by the States Attorney's Office ($595) and Regional Child Support ($1,388). Upon roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. The contribution of funds made by the East Central Board of Commissioners to the campaign of Kaye Braaten for 4th Vice President of the National Association of Counties was reviewed by the Conmission. Robert ltoy, Cass County States Attorney, stated he has received letters from legal counsel for the Fargo School District No. 1, the City of Fargo, the Fargo Park District and the Southeast Cass Water Resource District regarding the tax increment error. Mr. Hoy advised the Board that a decision needs to be made as to whether.the matter should be turned over to the North Dakota Insurance Reserve Fund. The Board decided to delay the matter until the next meeting so that each Commissioner has a chance to review the correspondence previously discussed.
