13 <br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />JANUARY 26, 1988 <br /> <br /> The meeting was called to order by Vice Chatrman Jeannette Stanton with all members <br />present as follows: Oscar Sondra11, Ray Larson, Alon Wteland, Don Eckert and Jeannette <br />Stanton. <br /> <br /> Mr. Larson moved and Mr. Eckert seconded that the minutes of the previous meeting of <br />January 19, 1988, be approved as written. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> Mrs. Stanton informed the Board that Ordelle Brua, County Auditor, would be absent from <br />today's meeting to attend a funeral. <br /> <br /> Upon the written recommendation of Ordelle Brua, County Auditor, Mr. Eckert moved and <br />Mr. Larson seconded to accept the bid of Knight Printing Co. for election supplies. On roll <br />call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> lhe Commission decided to table the Application for Abatement and Settlement of Taxes <br />for Cargill, Inc. until the Commission meeting next Tuesday. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Mr. Wteland and seconded by Mr. Larson to make the following <br />professional salary adjustments for the Assistant States Attorneys within the Cass County <br />States Attorney Office, retroactive to January 1, 1988: <br /> <br /> 1988 1988 <br />Attorney Requested Approved <br /> <br /> Requested <br />Professional Adjustment <br /> <br />James Twomey $38,000 $3/,152 $ 848 <br />Melody Jensen 34,000 32,087 1,913 <br />Keith Reisenauer 34,000 32,08/ 1,913 <br />John Golf 33,500 31,135 2,365 <br />*Mark Boening 31,500 29,517 1,983 <br /> <br /> *This position is a full time States Attorney which is shared for budgetary purposes at <br />30% from the States Attorney and 70% from Regional Child Support. The above adjustment for <br />1988 of $1,983 would be shared by the States Attorney's Office ($595) and Regional Child <br />Support ($1,388). <br /> <br />Upon roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> The contribution of funds made by the East Central Board of Commissioners to the <br />campaign of Kaye Braaten for 4th Vice President of the National Association of Counties was <br />reviewed by the Conmission. <br /> <br /> Robert ltoy, Cass County States Attorney, stated he has received letters from legal <br />counsel for the Fargo School District No. 1, the City of Fargo, the Fargo Park District and <br />the Southeast Cass Water Resource District regarding the tax increment error. Mr. Hoy <br />advised the Board that a decision needs to be made as to whether.the matter should be turned <br />over to the North Dakota Insurance Reserve Fund. The Board decided to delay the matter <br />until the next meeting so that each Commissioner has a chance to review the correspondence <br />previously discussed. <br /> <br /> <br />
