PROCEEDINGS OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />OF CASS COUNTY, NORTH DAKOTA <br />REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />JANUARY 6, 1987 <br />Chairman Alon Wieland called the meeting to order with all members present as follows: Jeannette <br />Stanton, Don Eckert, Oscar Sondrall, Ray Larson and Alon Wieland. <br />Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the minutes of the previous meeting be approved as <br />written. Motion carried. <br />The first order of business was to appoint a Chairman and Vice Chairman for 1987. Because of the <br />County Commission's tradition of using the rotation method, Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded to <br />nominate Oscar Sondrall as Chairman for 1987. Mr. Sondrall stated that he wished to decline the <br />chairmanship for this year. Mrs. Stanton withdrew the motion and Mr. Larson withdrew the second. <br />Mrs. Stanton then nominated Don Eckert as Chairman for 1987. However, Mr. Eckert stated that he feels <br />Mr. Wieland should continue as Chairman for one more year since the Commission is in a period of time <br />where there are a lot of details to be handled, particularly with the building construction. <br />Mrs. Stanton stated that each Commissioner District is equal, and the Chairmanship should move from <br />person to person. The Chairman called for a second to Mrs. Stanton's nomination. There was no second. <br />Mr. Larson moved and Mr. Eckert seconded that Alon Wieland be appointed as Chairman of the Cass <br />County Commission for the year 1987. Mr. Wieland stated that he would accept the position one more year <br />for reasons of continuity. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Sondrall moved and Mr. Larson seconded to appoint Don Eckert as Vice Chairman of the Cass County <br />Commission for 1987. Wold, and that the County Auditor be authorized <br />to issue duplicate checks to replace Warrant #8378 dated July 17, 1980, issued to Betty Brumfield, and <br />Warrants #1941 and #3337 dated January 25 and May 23, 1980, issued to Patricia R. Wold.
