<br />The Auditor read a letter from Walter E. Cullen of Casselton voicing an objection
<br />to the Commission's discussion on moving the Cass County Veterans Service Office from
<br />the Cass County Annex. The Commission suggested that the letter be acknowledged
<br />after next Tuesday when the matter will be discussed again.
<br />
<br />Mr. Sondrall received informal bids for repair work at the Juvenile Justice Center.
<br />The Commission authorized him to receive additional estimates for roofing repair and
<br />installation of air vents.
<br />
<br />On motion by Mr. Larson and seconded by Mrs. Stanton, the meeting was adjourned.

<br />Chairman Eckert called the meeting to order and upon roll call, all members were
<br />
<br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded that the minutes of the previous meeting
<br />, be approved as written. Motion carried.
<br />
<br />Mrs. Stanton moved and. Mr. Larson seconded to grant approval to Cass County Electric
<br />Cooperative to install undergrounm. power cable along County Road 34 in Section 21,
<br />Arthur Township, and along County Road 9 in the Southeast Quarter of Section 8, Addison
<br />Township; and that the Sleepy Hollow Water Corporation be authorized to bury a 2" water
<br />along County Road 6 right of way in Section 7, Stanley Township. On roll call vote,
<br />the motion carried unanimously.

<br />Upon the recommendation of Steve Grindberg, County Road Superintendent,
<br />moved and Mr. Larson seconded that Cass County keep the road restrictions in
<br />on County roads for another week and possibly longer on ,certain roads at the
<br />of Mr. Grindberg. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously.

<br />Discussion was held on the office space occupied by the Cass County Veterans Service
<br />at the Annex. Mr. John Meyer, Vete.rans Service Officer, reported on the number of
<br />clients that utilize the services of his department and the Cass County Social Services
<br />both within the Annex. Mr. Larson suggested postponing this matter since the Commission
<br />has recently requested an appraisal of the Annex. Mr. Eckert stated that he talked to
<br />Sheriff Don Rudnick this morning about the space at the Juvenile Detention Center
<br />which the Commission was considering for the Veterans Service Office, and it looks
<br />as if that area could not be used in the same manner as originally thought. Mr. Larson
<br />moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to table this matter. On roll call vote, the motion
<br />carried unanimously.

<br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded to approve the Dance Permit Application
<br />submitted by JAM Productions and the Red River Valley Fair Association to hold a Concert
<br />in the grandstands area at the Red River Valley Fairgrounds on the date of August 13, 1983.
<br />On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously.

<br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded to grant the Application for a Dance Permit
<br />for the IRA Rodeo Association in the Commercial Building at the Red River Valley
<br />Fairgrounds on the date of May 21, 1983. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously.
<br />
<br />Mr. Larson moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to grant the Application for a Dance Permit
<br />for the Kindred Wildlife Federation on the date of May 20, 1983, at the Millsite Park.
<br />On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously.
<br />
<br />Mr. Sondrall moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded to grant the Application for a Dance
<br />Permit for the Hickson Centennial Committee on the date of June 11, 1983, in Hickson.
<br />On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously.
<br />
<br />A letter was received from the Hickson Bar and Lounge, Inc. requesting a' special
<br />permit to .sell alcoholic beverage outside of the licensed liquor establishment on the
<br />date of June 11, 1983, for the Hickson Centennial Celebration. Mr. Larson moved and
<br />Mr. Sondrall seconded to grant a special permit to the Hickson Bar and Lounge to sell
<br />beer only at a location in Hickson other than the bar itself on the date of June 11, 1983.
<br />On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously.

<br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded to grant a permit to the Interstate
<br />Gun Club to hold a raffle on the date of June 25, 1983, at the Gun Club building
<br />northwest of Horace. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously.

<br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded to grant a permit to the, Bonanza Belles
<br />to hold a raffle at Bonanzaville, U.S.A. through December 31, 1983. On roll call vote,
<br />the motion carried unanimously.
