Mr. Richard Moorhead reported on the application for funds and the listing <br />of the Courthouse in the National Register of Historic Places: He stated that if the <br />Commission wishes to pursue some of the funding from the State Historical Society for the <br />bell tower restoration, they would not recommend that the Commission award any contracts <br />until they can approve them also. This would delay the project, and the bids may hot be <br />honored past 30 days from the date of bid opening. An alternative to delaying the project <br />would be to. award the contract for thw eork proposed at this time and to apply for <br />State funds for a future project. <br /> <br />Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded to award the low bid of Meinecke-Johnson <br />Company in the total amount of $142,800.00 for the Courthouse roofing project and the <br />!bell tower restoration. On roll call vote, the motion carried with four members <br />,voting "Aye" and Mr. Eckert opposing. <br /> <br />The Commission asked Mr. Moorhead to pursue the listing of the Courthouse on the <br />National Register of Historic Pleaces, and Mr. Sondrall suggested that the County Jail <br />also be listed. Mr. Moorhead gave the name of Mr. Ronald Rampy from NDSU who has already <br />done some work on admitting the Jail to the Natio.nal Register. <br /> <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that Mr. Bert Bailey from the County <br />Social Services Department be authorized to attend a conference on Child Abuse in St. Paul, <br />Minnesota, on the dates of May 19th and 20th. On roll call vote, the motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Larson moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that Vouchers No. 33,730 through <br />No. 34,473 and Revenue Sharing Vouchers No. 352 and 353 be approved and ordered paid. <br />On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Larson moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to grant the application for a <br />Dance Permit for the NDSU Saddle and Sirloin Club on the date of May 4, 1983, at the <br />Red River Valley Fairgrounds. The Mayor of Frontier brought up the same matter to the <br />County Commission a few weeks ago, and the Board referred him to the Southeast Cass <br />Water Resource District. Mr. Sondrall stated that he will discuss this matter with <br />,the County Road Superintendent and the State Highway Department. The Board asked him <br />'to also include the Southeast Cass Water Resource Board. Mr. Richard Brumfield, <br />County Sanitarian, was present and stated that this situation is also causing problems <br />with the drainfields and septic systems in Frontier. <br /> <br />On motion by Mr. Larson and seconded by Mr. Wieland, the meeting was adjourned. <br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />MAY 10, 1983 <br /> <br />I <br />Chairman Eckert called the meeting to order and upon roll call, all members were present.: <br /> <br />Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the minutes of the previous meeting <br />be approved as written. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded to grant utility permits to. the Cass County <br />Electric Company to install underground power cables on County Road 22 in the Southeast <br />Quarter of Section 1, Raymond Township; on County Road 81 in the Northeast Quarter of <br />Section 12 and on County Road 16 in the Northwest Quarter of Section 2, Pleasant Township; <br />and on County Road 10 in the Northwest Quarter of Section 1, Mapleton Township. <br />On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />ICi ty of Frontier <br />idrainage disc. <br /> <br />iCass Co. On roil call lof Gardner--req. <br />vote, the motion carried unanimously. Steve Grindberg, County Road Superintendent, ifor Federal Aid <br />felt that the money could be paid from the Road Maintenance line item in his budget. ' <br /> <br /> <br />
