<br />Commission Minutes--September 3, 2002 2496 <br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />,-. SEPTEMBER 3, 2002 (TUESDAY) <br /> <br />1. MEETING TO ORDER <br />Chairman Alon Wieiand called the meeting to order at 3:30 PM with all members present as <br />follows: John Meyer, Donna Schneider, Scott Wagner, Robyn Sorum and Alon Wieland. <br /> <br />2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE <br />Chairman Wieland asked Bonnie Johnson to lead the Piedge of Allegiance at this time. <br /> <br />3. MINUTES APPROVED <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mrs. Schneider moved and Mrs. Sorum seconded that the minutes of the <br />last regular meeting held on August 19, 2002, and the minutes of the <br />August 19, 2002, budget meeting be approved as written. Motion carried. <br /> <br />,... <br /> <br />4. AGENDA, Order approved <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wagner moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to approve the order of <br />the agenda with the following additions: 1) rescind contract with Astar, <br />Inc. and add contract with EZ Gov; 2) purchase order for Highway <br />Department landscaping project; 3) final plat approval of Betty Ann Acres <br />Subdivision and Cliffhanger Landing Subdivision; 4) special event permit <br />for Playmakers Sports Cafe and Bar; and 5) discuss Fargo Historic <br />Preservation Commission public hearing notice on Historic Overlay <br />District. Motion carried. <br /> <br />5. SOCIAL SERVICES, Commendation/retirement letter to Rainer Lobitz <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Meyer moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to authorize the <br />chairman to sign a letter of commendation to Rainer Lobitz, who is <br />retiring after over 28 years of service in the Cass County Social Service <br />Office. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. Mr. Lobitz was <br />present to receive the letter, and he also received a plaque at a Social <br />Services open house last week in recognition of his years of service. <br />Coworkers of Mr. Lobitz and his wife, Rennae, were aiso present. <br /> <br />6. BUDGET ADJUSTMENTS, Computer uPRrades, street Iiahtlna. Extension Service <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Meyer moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to approve budget <br />adjustments for computer upgrades, street lighting improvements and <br />Extension Service, according to a list provided by the County Auditor, <br />Michael Montplaisir, in a letter dated August 22, 2002. On roll call vote, <br />the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />,-. <br /> <br />7. PERMIT FOR RAFFLE, Approved for Kindred Parent Teacher OrRanization <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Meyer moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to approve a raffle permit <br />for the Kindred Parent Teacher Organization to be held on September 20, <br />
