<br />PROCEEDINGS OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />OF CASS COUNTY, NORTH DAKOTA <br /> <br />6021 <br /> <br />~w .___.___ ,,_-'oi:!iI~~!.'2!!!lT.I_!'9~ "-!l::~r~,!~O~-!'-,_D:'J21111!'l":.' . <br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />MARCH 2, 1982 <br /> <br />Chairman Wold called the meeting to order and three members were present, <br />Mr. Eckert and Mr. Hendrickson being absent. <br /> <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded that the minutes of the previous <br />mee-t,ing be approved as written. Motion carried. <br /> <br />. Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that Mr. Grindberg and Darrell Aasland <br />from the County Road Department be authorized to attend the concrete paving seminar <br />on March 10th and 11th in St. Cloud, Minnesota. On roll call vote, the motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Grindberg reported on the Annual Engineer's Institute which he attended <br />in Bismarck last week. <br /> <br />Upon the recommendation of the County Road Superintendent, Mrs. Stanton moved <br />and Mr. Larson seconded that the Board accept all bids received for yearly <br />Road Department supplies and the gasoline for the Sheriff's Department <br />with the understanding that any company who participates in the sale of these <br />supplies must meet the low bid for that item. On roll call vote, the motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />A letter was received from Anthony Richard stating that the Horace American <br />Legion Club no longer wishes to have the Site Authorization for games of chance <br />at the Watering Hole Bar in Wild Rice. <br /> <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded that the Dakota Chapter of the <br />Cystic Fibrosis Foundation be granted Site Authorization to conduct games of chance <br />at the Watering Hole Bar in Wild Rice for the period of March 2 - June 30, 1982. <br />On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />The Board received an application fLom Mark Goodman and Debbie Claus for a permit <br />for a wedding dance to be held on the" date of May 29, 1982, at the Red River Valley <br />Fairgrounds. The Board questioned the consumption of alcoholic beverages and whether <br />this would be a public or a private dance~ The matter was referred to the <br />States Attorney for clarification next week. <br /> <br />Jeff Volk from the Moore Engineering Company appeared before the Board regarding <br />a proposed addition of another water well by the Harwood Development Corporation <br />for use in the present water and sewer system in the Harwood area. Mr. Larson moved <br />and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the Chairman be authorized to sign a letter to the <br />Farmers Home Administration stating that the project does not interfere with any <br />other plans as far as the County is concerned. On roll call vote, the motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded to grant a permit to the North Dakota <br />Angus Auxiliary to hold a raffle on the date of July 8, 1982, at the Red River Valley <br />Fairgrounds. (reS of '~e pre~i.~ "'eel-i"~ he ."proved If.I5 wy{ffelt. rn.+lo11 l!/I,yyje.J. <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded to grant a utility permit to Cass County <br />Electric Co-op to bury cable on County Road 81 in the NW~ of Section 12, Gardner Township. <br />On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Donald Gunness from Abercrombie informed the Board that he has some gravel <br />near Glyndon that he would like to sell to the County. Steve Grindberg, County Road <br />Superintendent, stated that ther~ are some matters he would have to work out if the County <br />bought gravel from Mr. Gunness's pit. Commissioners Eckert and Larson will meet with <br />Mr. Grindberg before the end of the week to discuss the matter as Mr. Gunness would like <br />to know ahead of time how much gravel the County would buy. <br /> <br />Mr. Ken McIntyre presented copies of the Annual Audit Report of the Cass County <br />Historical Society.
