I A delegation from Clifton and Pontiac Townships appeared before the Board regarding <br />from Clifton & I the County road between Barnes County and Cass County. They stated that the <br />Pontiac Twps. on i Barnes County Commissioners requested these two townships and two townships in Barnes <br />obtaining R/W : County to purchase the right of way for improving this road or have the landowners <br />for the Co. Rd. i donate the necessary right of way. Mr. Grindberg stated that Cass County purchased <br />between Barnes & ' the right of way when our portion of the road was regraded, but he understands that <br />Cass Counties it is Barnes County's policy to have the townships buy the right of way and also pay <br />the cost of moving utility lines. Mr. Hendrickson moved and Mr. Satrom seconded <br />that the bid from the Knight Printing Company be received and referred to the <br />County Auditor for tabulation and recommendation next week. On roll call vote, <br />the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Upon the request of Mary Hall from the Juvenile Supervisor's Office, Mr. Satrom <br />moved and Mr. Hendrickson seconded that out of state travel be granted for one staff member <br />to attend the Juvenile Supervisor's Institute in Minneapolis on July 16th through 25th, 1980, <br />which is funded by the Supreme Court; and that six staff members be authorized to attend <br />a seminar in Park Rapids, Minnesota, on March 29 and 30, 1980, at a cost of approximately <br />$120.00 for mileage and lodging. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />District Court Judge Norman Backes appeared before the Board at their request <br />to explain the courtroom space in the proposed new addition. He stated that they have <br />added one larger courtroom than what they presently have but also have added two hearing <br />rooms which can be used for cases involving less people. He stated that if another Judge <br />were to be placed in this Judicial District, they would be able to accomodate him <br />with the present proposed space. <br /> <br />Sheriff Don Rudn~ck presented his annual report and stated that he will appear <br />before' the Board next week to discuss the report. The Sheriff asked the Board to consider <br />installing a garbage disposal in the Jail kitchen to solve a sanitary problem they are <br />having. <br /> <br />Mr. Hendrickson moved and Mr. Satrom seconded that the A-95 Review from the <br />Metropolitan Council of Governments for the Southeastern North Dakota Community Action <br />Agency Neighborhood Energy Center be given a favorable review. On roll call vote, <br />the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />The Auditor read a letter from the City of Fargo notifying the Board of <br />to be held on April 21, 1980, at 7:30 P.M. on their application to the Urban <br />Administration for federal assistance in the purchase of ten advanced design <br />and related equipment. <br /> <br />a public hearins <br />Mass Transit <br />transit buses <br /> <br />On motion by Mr. Satrom and seconded by Mr. Hendrickson, the meeting was adjourned. <br /> <br />ADJOURNED MEETING OF CASS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />MARCH 26, 1980 <br /> <br />! <br />i Discussion was held on the request from the City of Leonard for the County to pay <br />I for paving ih Leonard done by the County Road Department. The Auditor read from the <br />iCounty Commission Proceedings when the City of Leonard requested this paving; and the <br />!minutes of June 13, 1979, state that the County Road Superintendent informed the <br />,City of Leonard that the Road Department budget had been committed for that year. <br /> <br />Co. Planner to' Mr. Sondrall suggested that the County Planner be requested to investigate the <br />investigate poss.ipossibility of obtaining funds for cleaning trees from the Red River as was done <br />of getting funds !by the Southeast Cass Water Management District on the Sheyenne River. Mrs. Stanton <br />for cleaning I'stated that she will contact Bernie Reynolds. <br />Red River <br />i Mr. Ron Hilden appeared before the Board along with several employees of the <br />ICass County Sheriff's Department to request an increase in mileage to 40';: per mile <br />to correspond with the rate of increase in the price of gasoline. The Commission <br />asked Sheriff Rudnick to figure how much it would cost through June 30th to increase <br />the mileage rate, and report back to the Board next week. <br /> <br />Shff. On roll call vote, the motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />
