<br />r-- <br /> <br />r-- <br /> <br />,.,--, <br /> <br />Commission Minutes--May 20, 2002 2443 <br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />MAY 20,2002 <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />MEETING TO ORDER <br />Chairman Alon Wieland called the meeting to order at 3:30 PM with all members present as <br />follows: John Meyer, Donna Schneider, Scott Wagner, Robyn Sorum and Alon Wieland. <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />MINUTES APPROVED <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Meyer moved and Mrs. Sorum seconded that the minutes of the <br />previous meeting be approved as written. Motion carried. <br /> <br />3. <br /> <br />AGENDA, Order approved <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Meyer moved and Mr. Wagner seconded to approve the order of the <br />agenda with the following changes: a) add a purchase order with Nodak <br />Stores for additional equipment for the new Cass County jail; b) add a <br />contract for the Sheriff's Department for Youthworks and a contract for <br />the Highway Department for a bridge structure in Berlin Township; c) add <br />a resolution for Brian Shorten, who is leaving his position as Executive <br />Director of the Fargo-Moorhead Metropolitan Council of Governments <br />after holding that position for over 16 years; d) delay lifting the spring <br />load restrictions, according to a memorandum from the county engineer; <br />and e) moving the resolution for MIDA Bond issue for the Shanley High <br />School Project to the regular agenda for discussion. Motion carried. <br /> <br />4. JAIL, Purchase orders for meal delivery svstem, inmate supplies, securitv eauipment, <br />additional office furniture <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mrs. Schneider moved and Mrs. Sorum seconded to approve the <br />purchase of the meal delivery system, inmate supplies and security <br />equipment for the new Cass County Jail, and authorize the chairman to <br />sign the purchase orders. On roll call vote, the motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mrs. Schneider moved and Mrs. Sorum seconded to approve the <br />purchase of classroom furniture and office equipment for the new Cass <br />County Jail, and authorize the chairman to sign the purchase order. On <br />roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mrs. Schneider moved and Mrs. Sorum seconded to authorize the <br />chairman to sign a purchase order with Nodak Stores for the purchase of <br />additional equipment for the Cass County jail, in the amount of <br />$10,673.61. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br />
