Mr. Montplaisir said he
prepared the budget based on what one mill would generate. He said the Commission needs
to define the long-term mission of Brewer Lake and if the park will be a full service park. Mrs.
Quick feels this requires public input about what level the public is willing to support Brewer
Lake. Mr. Montplaisir suggested general maintenance be increased from $2,800 to $5,000 to
have money available for emergency maintenance items needed at the park. The
Commission discussed construction of shower hookups, bathrooms and other projects at
Brewer Lake and suggested the fund be built up to help pay for this item. MOTION, passed
Mrs. Quick moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to approve the County
Park budget at one mill, to include $5,000 for general maintenance
and for the remainder of the mill to go into a fund for future projects
at Brewer Lake. Motion carried unanimously.

Lake Agassiz Regional Council
Executive Director Irv Rustad was present. Mr. Montplaisir said Lake Agassiz Regional
Council requested $15,000 for 2001. Mr. Lahren
reviewed the different activities and training with the rural ambulance. He said next year
changes to Medicare reimbursement rules are expected to have a huge impact on all
ambulance services. He said the budget request is $145,000, the same as last year. Mr.
Montplaisir asked if each ambulance service puts aside money to replace equipment and
vehicles. Mr. Torgerson said that they do have a reserve on hand for such items.
