Commission Minutes--August 23, 2000 2185 <br /> <br />Historical Society <br />Executive Director Kathy Anderson and Development Director Martin Jonason as well as <br />George Howe, Sandy Fuchs, Roy Johnson, Mary Simon and Jim Dawson were present. Ms. <br />Anderson discussed the programs at Bonanzaville and said over the last three years, they <br />have completed a quarter million dollars of improvements. She discussed concerns with <br />foundation problems on buildings due to the wood rotting underneath. She said the budget <br />request is $35,000 for 2001. <br /> <br />Mrs. Quick asked how many volunteer hours are given during a year. Ms. Anderson said <br />approximately 10,000 hours are given. <br />Ms. Fox asked about the tax exempt status and if the Commission would consider extending it <br />beyond 2006. Mr. Montplaisir said the county has an agreement with the Red River Valley <br />Fair and the Historical Society to pay for special assessments.
