Commission Minutes—August 15, 2012 4048 <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Vanyo moved and Mr. Pawluk seconded to approve the 2013 <br /> preliminary Fargo Cass Public Health Jail budget. On roll call vote, <br /> the motion carried unanimously. <br /> 15. HUMANE SOCIETY <br /> Nukhet Hendricks, Director of the Humane Society, was present. Their organization is <br /> requesting $3,000 for 2013. She said their organization is the only shelter that rescues <br /> cats and dogs and finds homes for them. She said the Humane Society also organizes <br /> emergency shelter for animals during floods and emergency situations. <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mrs. Sorum moved and Mr. Vanyo seconded to approve the 2013 <br /> preliminary budget for the Humane Society in the amount of $3,000. <br /> Discussion: Mr. Pawluk asked if the local Humane Society is <br /> connected with the Humane Society of the U.S. Ms. Hendricks said <br /> there is absolutely no affiliation and they do not receive or send any <br /> dollars to the Humane Society of the U.S. On roll call vote, the <br /> motion carried unanimously. <br /> 16.
