<br />Commission Minutes--July 19, 2004 <br /> <br />2756 <br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />JULY 19, 2004 <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />MEETING TO ORDER <br />Vice Chairman Darrell Vanyo called the meeting to order at 3:30 PM with three members <br />present and two members on teleconference. John Meyer, Darrell Vanyo and Vern Bennett <br />were present; Robyn Sorum and Scott Wagner participated through a teleconference call <br />from Arizona where they are attending the National Association of Counties convention from <br />July 16-21. <br /> <br />PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE <br />Mr. Vanyo led the Pledge of Allegiance at this time. <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />3. <br /> <br />MINUTES APPROVED <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Bennett moved and Mr. Meyer seconded that the minutes of the <br />previous meeting be approved as written. Motion carried. <br /> <br />4. <br /> <br />AGENDA, Order approved <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wagner moved and Mrs. Sorum seconded to approve the order of the <br />agenda with the following additions: 1) appointment to the Vector <br />Control Board to fill a vacancy; 2) resolution of condolence to the family <br />of the late William "Bill" Pietsch of Casselton; and 3) contract revisions <br />for aerial mosquito spraying. Motion carried. <br /> <br />5. <br /> <br />ROAD DEPARTMENT, Approve actina pay for two employees <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Meyer moved and Mr. Wagner seconded to approve acting pay for <br />Rich Sieg and Tom Soucy during the County Engineer's active duty <br />military leave of absence, effective August 1, 2004 and continuing until <br />Mr. Berndt returns from military leave. On roll call vote, the motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />6. <br /> <br />AUDITOR'S OFFICE, Monthly financial statement received <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Meyer moved and Mr. Wagner seconded to receive a monthly <br />financial statement provided by the county auditor. On roll call vote, <br />the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />7. <br /> <br />SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT, Approve fundina application under Juvenile Justice & <br />DelinQuency Prevention Act <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Meyer moved and Mr. Wagner seconded to approve the 2004 <br />application for funding on behalf of Youthworks under the Juvenile <br />Justice & Delinquency Prevention Act. On roll call vote, the motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />
