Other establishments. The liquid capacity of the <br />septic tank serving an establishment other than a <br />dwelling shall be sufficient to provide a sewage <br />detention period of not less than 36 hours in the <br />tank for sewage flows less than 1,500 gallons per <br />day, but in no instance shall the liquid be less <br />than 1,000 gallons. For sewage flows greater <br />than 1,500 gallons per day the minimum liquid <br />capacity shall equal 1,125 gallons plus 75% of <br />the daily sewage flow. <br /> <br /> c. Garbage disposal. If a garbage disposal unit is <br />installed in a residence or other establishment at <br />any time, septic tank capacity must be at least <br />50% greater than that required in items A and B <br />and either multiple compartments or multiple <br />tanks must be provided. <br /> <br /> d. Location <br /> <br /> 1. The sewage tank shall be placed so that it is <br />accessible for the removal of liquids and <br />accumulated solids. <br /> <br /> 2. The sewage tank shall be placed on firm and <br />settled soil capable of bearing the weight of <br />the tank and its contents. <br />
