PROGRAM GOAL, OBJECTIVE(S) & ACTIVITIES (page 1 of 2) Youthworks, in collaboration with the Juvenile Court and local schools, will provide diversion services for 170 youth including (1) truants, (2) youth suspended and expelled from school and (3) "deep- end" unruly youth" and their families. The staff will collaboratively develop diversion plans with the youth, parents, schools and court focused on keeping youth in school, at home, and out of the juvenile justice and child welfare systems. 1. In 2004-05 Youthworks will provide intensive casework, based on a collaboratively developed plan, for 30 deep-end unruly youth who are at risk of being removed from their home with: ~ (85%) of the youth remaining in the custody of their parents. ~ (65%) having no further involvement in the juvenile justice system. ~ (60%) of the youth having no placement interventions (attendant care, psyche placement, emergency foster or group placement). 2. In 2004-05 Youthworks' will provide 100 students suspended from school with supervision, homework assistance, counseling and community service with: ~ 100% completing a school approved plan regarding the conditions (homework, counseling, letters of apology, community service) of their return to school ~ 70% having no further suspensions during the school year 3. In 2004-05 Youthworks will follow-up on 40 student truancy reports provided by the schools; develop a plan with the youth, parents and school regarding attendance; and monitor compliance with the plan with: ~ 80% showing improvement in attendance and achievement
