Hendrickson seconded that the Indemnity Bond on Bond for Mrs. Wold Lost Instrument for Patricia Wold be received and filed and the Auditor be authorized Ito issue a duplicate check. Mr. Hendrickson moved and Mr. Satrom seconded that Commissioner Sondrall be appointed Fairlas the County's delegate to the North Dakota State Fair Annual Meeting on November 2nd 'in Minot. ADJOURNED MEETING OF CASS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS SEPTEMBER 20, 1978 Chairman Wold called the meeting to order and upon roll call, all members were present. C31 bridge discussed Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Hendrickson seconded that the minutes of the previous meeting ibe approved as written. Motion carried. I I prjct.! Concerning the County Road 31 bridge project, the County Road Superintendent reported !that it was the Argusville School Bus that was using the temporary construction bridge, II and they have decided to no longer use the temporary structure after talking with the rMoore Engineering Company and the contractor. Mr. Satrom to ! Mr. Sondrall moved and Mr. Hendrickson seconded that Mr. Satrom be authorized to sign sign documents the documents on behalf of the County at the State Highway Department bid letting in Bismarck at St. bid lettn~on Friday for the County Road 16 project. Motion carried. i i A delegation from the Mapleton area appeared before the Board regarding the poor ; condition of County' Road 10 from Map1eton to West Fargo. Concern was expressed since [this is a school bus route. Mr. Scheffler stated that the road can be graveled yet this fall, land Mrs. Wold suggested that the County reassess their priorities on the proposed 5-year iroad construction program. Mr. Norbert Frank presented petitions for the regrading and I hard surfacing of this road. Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Hendrickson seconded that the , I petitions be received and filed, and that the matter be referred to the County Road Department ito investigate the cost and when the project could possibly be scheduled. I Delegation from Mapleton re: CIO Abate. for Lyle Upon the recommendation of Clarence Miller, County Director of Tax Equalization, Thompson approved!Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Hendrickson seconded that the Application for A~atement and for 1976 & 1977 I Settlement of Taxes for Lyle Thompson for the year 1976 be granted as subm~tted. IMotion carried. Abate. for Paul I An Application for Abatement and Settlement of Taxes for the year 1977 was received R. Schanno of i from Paul R. Schanno who recently purchased Flavorland Beef Industries in Barnes Township. Flavorland Beef Upon the recommendation of the County Director of Tax Equalization, Mr. Hendrickson moved Ind.--Co. req. i and Mr. Satrom seconded that the County Commission request the North Dakota Tax Department assistance from i to assist the County in making a review and reappraisal of this property, since the St. Tax Dept. in i requested reduction,is ~ery larg~ and wo~ld have a serious financial effect on the making reapprais.; West Fargo School D~str~ct. Mot~on carr~ed,. I Gordon Sletmoe! Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Hendrickson seconded that the Cass County Disaster apptd. vice pres'I'. Emergency Services Director, Gordon Sletmoe, be authorized to accept his appointment of State Assn. as Vice President of the State Association for Disaster Emergency Service Directors for DES Directorsiwith the Board's congratulations on his appointment. Motion carried. I I Mr. Sletmoe reported on a State-wide exercise to be conducted by County Disaster i Emergency Services Directors. One phase of the exercise requires the participation [of County Commissioners, and the Board set the date for October 4th at 1:00 P.M. in ! the DES Conference Room. State-wide exer- cise to be condo involving Co. Commissioners Co. Social Servo Director auth. addtl. spending for Nokomis Day Care Center I Mr. Hendrickson moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that the Chairman be authorized i to sign the agreement with the City of Kindred for participating in a County-wide I disaster agency. Motion carried. Upon the request of Mr. Tom Jensen, County Social Services Director, Mr. Hendrickson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that Mr. Jensen be authorized additional spending for i continued operation of the Nokomis Day Care Center for the months of October, November II and December; which will be reimbursed by the State Social Services along with funds i raised by the Nokomis Day Care Center.
