<br />PROCEEDINGS OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />OF CASS COUNTY, NORTH DAKOTA <br /> <br /> <br />Mr. Satrom moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that Cass County Electric be authorized <br />to bury cable under County Road 20, in Section 16, Reed Township. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Mr. Satrom moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that Cass County Electric be authorized to <br />bury cable under County Road 20 in Section 15, Reed Township. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Mr. Hendrickson moved and Mr. Satrom seconded that Cass County Electric be authorized <br />ito bury cable under County Road 14 in Section 27, Stanley Township. Motion carried. <br /> <br />, Mr. Satrom moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that Northwestern Bell Telephone Company <br />'be authorized to bury cable along County Road 17 in Reed Township between County Road 10 <br />;and County Road 20. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Mr. Satrom moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that Northwestern Bell Telephone Company <br />!be authorized to bury cable under County Road 26 at Gardner. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Discussion continued from last week on the residency requirements of the Cass County <br />tRoad Department. Mr. Hendrickson moved and Mr. Satrom seconded that the following policy <br />,be adopted: "Effective August 1, 1978, all new permanent employees hired by the Cass County <br />'Road Department must live in Cass County or within a 15 mile radius of any Cass County Shop. <br />IFull time employees now working for the Cass County Road Department who move from-their <br />'present address must relocate within Cass County or within a 15 mile radius of any <br />Cass County Shop". After discussionJ the motion carried on a roll call vote with <br />Mrs. Stanton voting "No". <br /> <br />Mr. Hendrickson then moved that the County accept Mr. John Lewis' voluntary termination <br />:of his employment with the Cass County Road Department. The motion died for lack of a <br />:second. Mrs. Wold suggested that the Board discuss this further with Mr. Lewis <br />'at a separate time. <br /> <br />Mr. Hendrickson moved and Mr. Satrom seconded that the above matter be left to the <br />discretion of Roy Scheffler, County Road Superintendent. Motion carried. <br /> <br />i <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Satrom seconded that Vouchexs No. 52,944 through :Vouchers apprvd. <br />No. 53,554 and Revenue Sharing Voucher No. 172 be approved and ordered paid. Motion carried. <br /> <br />On motion by Mr. Satrom and seconded by Mr. Hendrickson, the meeting was adjourned. <br /> <br />ADJOURNED MEETING OF CASS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />AUGUST 9, 1978 <br /> <br />Chairman Wold called the meeting to order and upon roll call, four members were <br />present with Mr. Sondrall being absent. <br /> <br />Mr. Hendrickson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the minutes of the previous <br />meeting be approved as written. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Satrom seconded that the Northwestern Bell Telephone Company <br />be authorized to bury cable under County Road 16 south of St. Benedict. Motion carried. <br /> <br />i <br />NW Bell utility <br />permit granted <br />i <br /> <br />Upon the request of the City of Riverside, Mr. Hendrickson moved and Mr. Satrom Rural appt. to <br />seconded that Gregory Sprecher be appointed to the Riverside Planning and Zoning Con~ission ~iverside planning <br />in order for the City to exercise their ~ mile extra-territorial jurisdiction. Motion carrieq. & zoning comm. <br /> <br />Mr. Hendrickson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the Application for Abatement <br />and Settlement of Taxes for the National Alfalfa Dehydrating and Milling Company be <br />approved in accordance with the recommendation of the County Director of Tax Equalization. <br />,Motion carried. <br /> <br />Art Lieb, Juvenile Supervisor, appeared to request the Board to make application <br />to the North Dakota Law Enforcement Council for a grant for a probation officer to work <br />with abused children and their parents. The County's share the 1st year would be 5% or <br />$603.55. The second year the County's share would be 25%, then 50%, then 75% and the <br />5th year and thereafter would be total County expense.
