<br /> <br /> <br />PROCEEDINGS OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />OF CASS COUNTY, NORTH DAKOTA <br /> <br />i- <br /> <br />Stan Thurlow from the Metropolitan Council of Governments appeared regarding the <br />,Lane Use Element and Summary Statement. Mr. Hendrickson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded the <br />ithe Cass County Commission endorse the Land Use Plan. Motion carried. <br />i <br /> <br />I Attorney Edward Murphy appeared before the Board regarding his communication of <br />I. 'June 21st concerning the County establishing an Office of Public Defender. Chairman Wold <br />recommended that this be given consideration during the Commission's budget sessions. <br /> <br />: Three terms expire on the County Board of Special Education but the matter will be <br />Idelayed until the Board receives a recommendation from the County Superintendent of Schools. <br /> <br />I Terms expire July 1st on the Cass County Housing Authority, the Cass County Drain Boarc <br />ithe West Fargo Planning Commission and the Fargo Planning Commission. Upon the recommendati <br />lof the Stanley Township Board, Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Sondrqll seconded that Paul Ornbel <br />ibe reappointed to the Fargo Planning Commission. Motion carried. <br />I <br />i <br />I <br />Ito <br />Ion <br /> <br />I The County Road Superintendent reported on the progress of the County's bridge project, <br />I'on County Road 31 and at the Convent. <br /> <br />A letter was received from Fargo Mayor Jon Lindgren supporting the County's request <br />Ifor a traffic signal at 10th Street and 2nd Avenue South, and stating that the request <br />Iwas forwarded to the Traffic Technical Advisory Committee. <br /> <br />I DiS~ussion was again held concerning wage increases for 1978-1979. Mr. Hendrickson <br />imoved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that the County employees be given a 10% increase <br />!up to a maximum of $75.00 per month. The motion carried on a roll call vote with <br />Mr. Sondrall, Mr: Hendrickson and Mrs. Wold voting "Aye", Mrs. Stanton passing her vote <br />and Mr. Satrom voting "No". <br /> <br />Mr. Sondrall moved and Mr. Hendrickson seconded that the County Auditor be authorized <br />contact the other three Boards who have terms expiring to get their recommendations <br />the appointments. Motion carried. <br /> <br />i Correspondence was received from the City of Fargo concerning the County's <br />Iparticipating in the cost of the 19th Avenue North interchange from the Railroad to <br />IInterstate 29 at a local share of $80,000.00 for this stretch of road, which is outside <br />Ithe Fargo City limits. The Board determined to delay the matter until later in the day <br />Iwhen it can be discussed with the County Road Superintendent. <br /> <br />i Upon the recommendation of the County Treasurer, Mr. Hendrickson moved and Mr. Sondral] <br />Iseconded that the County accept the bid from The Pierce Company for real estate tax <br />I statements. Motion carried. <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />Pierce Company $89.95 per-thousand <br /> <br />Mrs. Stanton seconded that the bid be <br />her recommendation.
