<br />Cass Co. Elec~ric:I' Mr. Jack De~vo from Cass,County Electric, Inc. was p~esent concerning the estimate
<br />est. on C6 pr]ct-of $81,000.00 whJ.ch they submJ.tted to 'the County for burYJ.ng cable due to the
<br />~d. Supt. to iCounty Road 6 project. He stated that the present line is serving them well and they
<br />investigate ;would have no future plans to improve or increase the capacity on that line and
<br />constructing the I therefore, cannot be responsible for any of the costs in burying the cable due to the
<br />road around the iCounty's road project. Mr. Scheffler suggested that the County Board adopt a resolution
<br />power poles rath. iWhereby utility lines would have to be placed about 100' from the centerline of the
<br />than having them iCounty road on any new construction. Mr. Scheffler stated that he will investigate the
<br />moved irequirements and safety standards of the power companies should the County decide to
<br />,Iconstruct the road around the power lines rather than having them moved, and he will
<br />report back to the Board next week.

<br />I Mr. Sondrall stated that there is $5,000 left in the Revenue Sharing fund to be
<br />iused for buildings and grounds, and the County has an estimate of $3,500 for paving an
<br />iarea on the north side of the Courthouse for a parking lot. Mr. Satrom moved and
<br />iMr. Sondrall seconded that a parking lot be made to the north of the Courthouse,
<br />ibut the motion failed for lack of a majority vote with Mr. Hendrickson, Mrs. Stanton and
<br />IMrs. Wold opposing. Mrs. Wold suggested that the problem of parking be included on the
<br />I agenda of the committee studying the County's office space problem.

<br />Lost Instr.Bond I Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Hendrickson seconded that the Indemnity Bond on
<br />for Peggy Hersch ILost Instrument for Peggy Hersch be received and filed and that the Auditor be authorized
<br />i to issue a duplicate check. Motion,carried.

<br />i Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Hendrickson seconded that the Red River Valley Fair
<br />jAssociation be granted a gambling permit for Bingo on July 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 and 14,1978,
<br />ion the fairgrounds. Motion carried.

<br />I Mr. Hendrickson moved and Mr. Satrom seconded that the Red River Valley Fair Association
<br />!be granted a gambling permit for July 7, 8, 10, 11, 12, 13 & 14, 1978, for pulltabs
<br />lito be sold in the Red ~iver Valley Fairgrounds' Beer Garden during normal Beer Garden hours.
<br />Motion carried. -

<br />Req. from Western! Fargo Fire Chief William Stewart appeared before the Board with Gordon Sletmoe,
<br />Environ. Services: Disaster Emergency Services Director, concerning a request from Western Environmental
<br />to house truck & ~ Services of Oregon to place a truck and trailer loaded with emergency safety equipment
<br />trailer with iin a building within the County. Mr. Stewart stated that the Fargo Fire Department
<br />emergency safety Ihas no room to store this equipment. Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Hendrickson seconded
<br />equipment in I that Mr. Sondrall and Mr. Hendrickson, who have the Buildings and Grounds portfolio,
<br />Cass County. investigate with Mr. Sletmoe the possibility of storing this equipment through the
<br />I County Highway Department or the Fairgrounds. Motion carried.
<br />
<br />Jail Inspection i A letter was received from Oliver N. Thomas of the Law Enforcement Council
<br />Report--Auditor ; concerning an inspection of the Cass County Jail which was made by the State Jail Inspector
<br />to discuss it Ion May 11th. The Auditor stated that he will contact Glenn Ellingsburg, Chief Jailer,
<br />with Chief Jailericoncerning the points mentioned in the report and bring it back to the Board next week.

<br />Letter from St., The Auditor received a letter from the State Health Department concerning funds
<br />Health Dept. re:1 for local planning to alleviate Solid Waste Management problems. They requested the
<br />Solid Waste Mgmt.1 Counties opinion on appointing the Regional Planning Councils as the planning agencies
<br />land the Boards of County Commissioners as the implementing agencies since the County
<br />Ihas the authority to implement solid waste management plans if they so desire.
<br />I The Board was in agreement with this concept.
<br />
<br />Public hearing onl At 11:00 A.M. a public hearing was to be held for the purpose of having local citizens
<br />Federal Revenue ! and groups present written or verbal comments on how they think Federal Revenue Sharing
<br />Sharing I money should be spent. No one was present to comment.

<br />Vouchers apprvd.! I. Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that vou.chers No. 51,226 through
<br />No. 52,023 and Revenue Sharing Voucher No. 170 be approved and ordered paid.

<br />IWith Northwestern Bell Telephone Company to bury cable under County Road 6 at Lynchburg
<br />and on County right of way at Ayr. Motion carried.
