PROCEEDINGS OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF CASS COUNTY, NORTH DAKOTA The Auditor reported on a letter written to Governor Arthur Link on April 14th whereby Cass County requested 408 funding for disaster related necessary expenses and serious needs due to the recent flooding, said program to be administered through the County Social Services Office. Committee Reports were given. Mr. Satrom moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the following Monthly Reports for March be received and filed: Motion carried. Rush River Water Management District North Cass Water Management District Maple River Water Management District Southeast Cass Water Management District Cass County Veterans Service The Board again discussed a proposed building to the south of the Courthouse to ialleviate the space problems. The Auditor referred to a study on space needs for the County conducted several years ago, and this is being used as a reference. Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Hendrickson seconded that the County pursue studying the possibility of a building to the south of the Courthouse, and that architectural firms be contacted to see if they would be interested in being interviewed for such a project. Wold, Chairman Cass County Board of Commissioners REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY CO~~ISSIONERS MAY 2, 1978 Chairman Wold called the meeting_to order and upon roll call, all members were present. An Invocation was given by Mrs. Wold. Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Satrom seconded that the minutes of the previous meeting be approved as written. Motion carried. Mr. Tom Jensen, County Social Services Director, appeared before the Board regarding an initial survey of their facilities for accessibility to the handicapped. The Auditor ,stated that he received a letter in March regarding the State of North Dakota conducting an accessibility study of public buildings, but there has been no further contact as to when Cass County's buildings will be inspected. Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Satrom seconded that steve Grindberg, Assistant Road Superintendent, be designated as the County's local agent to sign documents for flood disaster and that Duane Hoehn, County Auditor, be appointed as alternate. Motion carried. The Auditor presented several change orders from J; E. Krieg & Sons on the Jail remodeling project, and it was suggested that Architect Harold Halvorson be asked to explain these change orders to the Board. Mr. Hendrickson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that Mrs. Wold and Mr. Sondrall be appointed to represent Cass County on the Solid Waste Disposal Committee with Fargo and West Fargo. The motion carried with Mr. Sondrall suggesting that Mrs. Stanton be an alternate on this committee. Mr, Sondrall moved and Mr. Hendrickson seconded that Mrs. Stanton be appointed to represent Cass County on a committee with the City of Fargo and the Committee on Public Health and Safety to establish a 911 emergency telephone number. Motion carried. A letter was received from the Board to seriously consider an addition to the Courthouse. be received and filed, and that interest.
