<br />PROCEEDINGS OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />OF CASS COUNTY, NORTH DAKOTA <br /> <br />The Auditor reported on a letter written to Governor Arthur Link on April 14th <br />whereby Cass County requested 408 funding for disaster related necessary expenses <br />and serious needs due to the recent flooding, said program to be administered through <br />the County Social Services Office. <br /> <br />Committee Reports were given. <br /> <br />Mr. Satrom moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the following Monthly Reports <br />for March be received and filed: Motion carried. <br /> <br />Rush River Water Management District <br />North Cass Water Management District <br />Maple River Water Management District <br />Southeast Cass Water Management District <br />Cass County Veterans Service <br /> <br />The Board again discussed a proposed building to the south of the Courthouse to <br />ialleviate the space problems. The Auditor referred to a study on space needs for the County <br />conducted several years ago, and this is being used as a reference. Mrs. Stanton moved <br />and Mr. Hendrickson seconded that the County pursue studying the possibility of a building <br />to the south of the Courthouse, and that architectural firms be contacted to see if <br />they would be interested in being interviewed for such a project. Wold, Chairman <br />Cass County Board of Commissioners <br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY CO~~ISSIONERS <br /> <br />MAY 2, 1978 <br /> <br />Chairman Wold called the meeting_to order and upon roll call, all members were present. <br /> <br />An Invocation was given by Mrs. Wold. <br /> <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Satrom seconded that the minutes of the previous meeting <br />be approved as written. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Mr. Tom Jensen, County Social Services Director, appeared before the Board regarding <br />an initial survey of their facilities for accessibility to the handicapped. The Auditor <br />,stated that he received a letter in March regarding the State of North Dakota conducting <br />an accessibility study of public buildings, but there has been no further contact as to when <br />Cass County's buildings will be inspected. <br /> <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Satrom seconded that steve Grindberg, Assistant Road <br />Superintendent, be designated as the County's local agent to sign documents for <br />flood disaster and that Duane Hoehn, County Auditor, be appointed as alternate. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />The Auditor presented several change orders from J; E. Krieg & Sons on the <br />Jail remodeling project, and it was suggested that Architect Harold Halvorson <br />be asked to explain these change orders to the Board. <br /> <br />Mr. Hendrickson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that Mrs. Wold and Mr. Sondrall <br />be appointed to represent Cass County on the Solid Waste Disposal Committee with <br />Fargo and West Fargo. The motion carried with Mr. Sondrall suggesting that <br />Mrs. Stanton be an alternate on this committee. <br /> <br />Mr, Sondrall moved and Mr. Hendrickson seconded that Mrs. Stanton be appointed <br />to represent Cass County on a committee with the City of Fargo and the Committee on <br />Public Health and Safety to establish a 911 emergency telephone number. Motion carried. <br /> <br />A letter was received from <br />the Board to seriously consider <br />an addition to the Courthouse. <br />be received and filed, and that <br />interest.
