£ ~ ".t '- , '"

Removal of Floodway Designation
July 28, 2003
Page 2

E
p~

'a ..f '2-.

During my conversation with Mr. Thomas and Mr. Flonack, I asked them how long it takes
them to review an application for a Letter of Map Amendment. They stated that the usual
turnaround time is 30 days from when they received it, but they would attempt to expedite the
review given the circumstances.

If you wish to move forward in removing the floodway designation from your property, I
suggest that you enlist the services of an engineering firm or registered land surveyor who is
familiar with this process. If you wish, I can refer you to several firms experienced in these
matters. FEMA does not charge a fee for reviewing Letters of Map Amendment.

If you have any questions, or if I can be of any assistance, I can be reached at 701-241-
1554. I would be more than willing to provide any information I can to help.

Sincerely,

k.4 .¿ /

Lynn A.
