<br />Commission Minutes--May 3, 2004 <br /> <br />2725 <br /> <br />Commissioners reported on meetings they have attended in the past two weeks. Mr. Meyer <br />and Mr. Wagner provided information on a Fargo Cass County Economic Development <br />meeting. Mr. Vanyo attended a Metropolitan Council of Governments meeting and said <br />there may be discussion in the future to consider including the cities of Harwood and <br />Horace in the group. Mr. Bennett reported on meetings he has attended with "Save Our Air <br />National Guard" committee and said the county may be asked to participate in trying to keep <br />the guard in North Dakota. He provided a hand-out on payroll impacts for the entire county. <br />A public meeting was held on the Cass 20 Clay 22 Red River Bridge replacement, and Mr. <br />Bennett said the meeting was well organized and very informational. <br /> <br />Mr. Montplaisir submitted a letter to the commissioners dated April 22, 2004, and spoke <br />today about a change in 911 fee payments, which will have a big financial impact on the <br />county and will be further discussed when the 2005 budget is presented. He said part of the <br />problem is that Cass County has been picking up the West Fargo share of joint dispatch. <br /> <br />A county park board meeting will be scheduled, possibly May 17th, to update the board on <br />construction of the new restroom facility at Brewer Lake. Also, Mr. Montplaisir said the <br />board should discuss upkeep of the other buildings at the recreation complex. <br /> <br />17. CORRESPONDENCE, Received and filed <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Vanyo moved and Mr. Wagner seconded to receive and file <br />correspondence outlined by the secretary as follows: Motion carried. <br /> <br />letters from the North Dakota Department of Transportation regarding bridges with alert <br />code 3; county structures requiring scour and channel profile inspection; county <br />structures that need load limit posting (enclosures forwarded to County Engineer); and <br />information about the special road fund program (copy referred to County Engineer); <br />letter from Safety-Kleen Corporation regarding Class 1 Modification, updated emergency <br />contact list; <br />copy of letter from North Dakota Department of Health to West Fargo Public Works <br />regarding the West Fargo inert landfill permit renewal; <br />invitation from Fraternal Order of Police to attend the annual Law Enforcement Memorial <br />Day ceremony at Noon on May 14, 2004, in Lindenwood Park, Fargo. <br /> <br />18.
