<br />Commission Minutes--April 5, 2004 <br /> <br />2713 <br /> <br />Mr. Burdick said his office usually has unexpended funds at the end of the year; however, <br />this is difficult to predict at this time of the budget year. Mr. Montplaisir said the commission <br />could authorize the State's Attorney to do what he feels is best for his office given the two <br />scenarios and a budget adjustment could be done when reviewing the 2005 budget <br />requests. Mr. Burdick said any additional funding would be helpful to his office. <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Vanyo moved and Mr. Wagner seconded to amend the States <br />Attorney's 2004 budget to include $5,800 for an additional summer law <br />clerk and $20,000 for additional salaries for temporary attorneys, <br />contract attorneys or a combination of both. Discussion: Mr. Meyer <br />asked if the City of Fargo has been contacted since they have more than <br />one part-time attorney. Mr. Burdick has contacted the city and their <br />attorneys would fall under the contract option. On roll call vote, the <br />motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />17. VOUCHERS, Approved <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wagner moved and Mr. Vanyo seconded to approve Voucher No. <br />185,928 through No. 186,391. On roll call vote, the motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />18. FLOOD FORECAST; CARPET PROJECT; MEETING UPDATES; ELECTION FILING <br />DEADLINE, Committee reports <br />Dave Rogness, Emergency Coordinator, gave an update on the flood forecast and said only <br />minor flooding is expected in the unincorporated rural areas of the county. <br /> <br />Mrs. Johnson said the carpet project was completed in the State's Attorney office a few <br />weeks ago. <br /> <br />Commissioners reported on meetings they have attended, including the township officers' <br />annual spring meeting. <br /> <br />Mr. Montplaisir said the filing deadline for the primary election is next Monday, April 12th at <br />4:00 PM. <br /> <br />19. CORRESPONDENCE, Received and filed <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wagner moved and Mr. Vanyo seconded to receive and file <br />correspondence outlined by the secretary as follows: Motion carried. <br />information from the United States Department of Commerce on Economic <br />Development Administration (EDA) Investment No. 05-19-59049 (referred <br />to Irv Rustad, Lake Agassiz Regional Council for response); <br />letter from Clayton Brennan, Sunrise Ranch near West Fargo, regarding <br />the need for certification of the weed control officer to inspect hay fields. <br /> <br />20. ADJOURNMENT <br />MOTION, passed <br />On motion by Mr. Wagner, seconded by Mr. Bennett, and all in favor, the <br />meeting was adjourned at 4:45 PM. <br />
