Commission Minutes--April 5, 2004 2713 Mr. Burdick said his office usually has unexpended funds at the end of the year; however, this is difficult to predict at this time of the budget year. Mr. Montplaisir said the commission could authorize the State's Attorney to do what he feels is best for his office given the two scenarios and a budget adjustment could be done when reviewing the 2005 budget requests. Mr. Burdick said any additional funding would be helpful to his office. MOTION, passed Mr. Vanyo moved and Mr. Wagner seconded to amend the States Attorney's 2004 budget to include $5,800 for an additional summer law clerk and $20,000 for additional salaries for temporary attorneys, contract attorneys or a combination of both. Discussion: Mr. Meyer asked if the City of Fargo has been contacted since they have more than one part-time attorney. Mr. Burdick has contacted the city and their attorneys would fall under the contract option. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. 17. VOUCHERS, Approved MOTION, passed Mr. Wagner moved and Mr. Vanyo seconded to approve Voucher No. 185,928 through No. 186,391. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. 18. FLOOD FORECAST; CARPET PROJECT; MEETING UPDATES; ELECTION FILING DEADLINE, Committee reports Dave Rogness, Emergency Coordinator, gave an update on the flood forecast and said only minor flooding is expected in the unincorporated rural areas of the county. Mrs. Johnson said the carpet project was completed in the State's Attorney office a few weeks ago. Commissioners reported on meetings they have attended, including the township officers' annual spring meeting. Mr. Montplaisir said the filing deadline for the primary election is next Monday, April 12th at 4:00 PM. 19. CORRESPONDENCE, Received and filed MOTION, passed Mr. Wagner moved and Mr. Vanyo seconded to receive and file correspondence outlined by the secretary as follows: Motion carried. information from the United States Department of Commerce on Economic Development Administration (EDA) Investment No. 05-19-59049 (referred to Irv Rustad, Lake Agassiz Regional Council for response); letter from Clayton Brennan, Sunrise Ranch near West Fargo, regarding the need for certification of the weed control officer to inspect hay fields. 20. ADJOURNMENT MOTION, passed On motion by Mr. Wagner, seconded by Mr. Bennett, and all in favor, the meeting was adjourned at 4:45 PM.
