Commission Minutes-May 4, 2009 3509 REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS MAY 4, 2009 1. MEETING CALLED TO ORDER Vice Chairman Darrell Vanyo called the meeting to order at 3:30 PM with members present as follows: Scott Wagner, Vern Bennett, Ken Pawluk, and Darrell Vanyo. Robyn Sorum was absent. 2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Darrell Vanyo led the Pledge of Allegiance. 3. MINUTES APPROVED MOTION, passed Mr. Wagner moved and Mr. Bennett seconded that the minutes of the previous meeting be approved as written. Motion carried. 4. AGENDA, Order approved MOTION, passed Mr. Pawluk moved and Mr. Bennett seconded to approve the order of the agenda with the addition of Road Department contracts to the regular agenda. Motion carried. 5. CONSENT AGENDA APPROVED MOTION, passed Mr. Pawluk moved and Mr. Bennett seconded to approve the consent agenda as follows: On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. a. Approve a fireworks display permit for RES Specialty Pyrotechnics, Inc. to be held at 9:00 PM on May 31, 2009, at the residence of James and Sonya Carlson, 1649 Round Hill Drive, rural Fargo. b. Approve a special event permit for the West Fargo V.F.W. for a wedding reception to be held May 16, 2009, during the hours of 4:00 PM to 11:00 PM at Dawson Hall, Bonanzaville U.S.A. in West Fargo, North Dakota; and approve a special event permit for the West Fargo V.F.W. for a wedding reception to be held August 15, 2009, at the Agricultural Building, Red River Valley Fairgrounds in West Fargo, North Dakota. c. Approve the budget calendar for the 2010 budget. d. Move to receive and file Indemnity Bond on Lost Instrument for Curtis and Jan Zejklik; and authorize the county auditor and county treasurer to issue a duplicate check. e. Approve FY2007 Law Enforcement Terrorism Prevention Grant in the amount of $145,000.00 from the U.S. Department of Commerce and Department of Homeland Security managed through the State of North Dakota, Department of Emergency Services, Division of Homeland Security; and amend the 2009 Sheriff's Department budget to reflect revenues of $145,000.00 in 101-3501-331.55-05 and expenditures of $145,000.00 in 101-3502-421.74-04.
