Commission Minutes-April 6, 2009 3497 <br />MEETING OF CASS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />APRIL 6, 2009 <br />1. MEETING CALLED TO ORDER <br />Chairwoman Robyn Sorum called the meeting to order at 3:30 PM with all members present <br />as follows: Scott Wagner, Vern Bennett, Ken Pawluk, Darrell Vanyo, and Robyn Sorum. <br />2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE <br />Heather Worden led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />3. MINUTES APPROVED <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wagner moved and Mr. Vanyo seconded to approve minutes of the <br />last regular meeting held March 16, 2009, and minutes of the special <br />meeting held March 19, 2009, as written. Motion carried. <br />4. AGENDA, Order approved <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Vanyo moved and Mr. Pawluk seconded to approve the order of the <br />agenda with additions of a Sheriff's Department grant application and <br />amended charity local permit; and pull the contract with Central <br />Specialties, Inc. Motion carried. <br />5. CONSENT AGENDA APPROVED <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wagner moved and Mr. Bennett seconded to approve the consent <br />agenda as follows: On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br />a. Approve Resolution #2009-8 proclaiming May 3-9, 2009, as National <br />County Government Week: <br />PROCLAMATION <br />NATIONAL COUNTY GOVERNMENT WEEK MAY 3-9, 2009 <br />Greening Our Future <br />WHEREAS, the nation's 3,068 counties provide a variety of essential public <br />services to communities serving 300 million Americans; and <br />WHEREAS, Cass County and all counties take seriously their responsibility to <br />protect and enhance the health, welfare and safety of its residents <br />in sensible and cost-effective ways; and <br />WHEREAS, many county government initiatives and programs involve the <br />protection of valuable and vulnerable environmental resources in <br />communities; and <br />WHEREAS, the National Association of Counties is the only national <br />organization that represents county governments in the United <br />States; and <br />
